 RELEVANCE OF VALTECH MISSION AND VISION & GOAL TO YOUR FIELD

OF STUDY
 The Valenzuela City Technological College is an institution where the students
will graduate with an option between 2 professional careers. It's either focusing on
teaching or putting into practice their technological skills in industry.
In our field of study which is Bachelor in Technical Teacher Education Major in
Electrical Technology, after graduating from this course we are expected to
respond to local and global educational and industry demands. We need to put
into practice the core values of our beloved school which is abbreviated as
P.R.I.D.E. We are taught in this institution to become more productive and
sustainable so that after we graduate, we can’t be the victims of the phrases like
“graduate ng college pero tambay”. We must become innovative because we are
in an era where technology is rapidly changing. The school and our professors
will hammer into us that we must be more resilient to what comes before us. At
last, after we graduate from this institution, we must show to anyone that
VALTECH graduates are disciplined and excellent in their field of specialization
meeting the standards of global and local industry and educational demands.

SELECT 2 PHILOSOPHERS WHO YOU THINK HAVE GREAT IMPACT IN OUR

PRESENT
 My first philosopher is John Locke because Locke's empiricism in education
means that learning can only occur via experience. Education, according to him,
is best accomplished by providing the learners with examples of proper thought
and behavior, and by training the learners to witness and share in the habits of
virtue that are part of the conventional wisdom of the rational and practical man.
Virtue should be developed through proper upbringing prior to "studies" in the
strict sense. The young ones initially learn to do by doing and then come to
understand what has been done. There is little doubt that understanding requires
diligent development and practice; this means that understanding not only entails
conduct but is also a type of conduct. If the child and the tutor behave similarly,
the youngster will have learned the character and mental habits required for
education to continue.
The second philosopher for me is John Dewey. Individualized instruction,
problem-based and integrated learning, dialogic teaching, and critical inquiry are
all examples of how Dewey's theory has influenced educational practices.
Dewey's principles are also compatible with those of teaching as inquiry.
Dewey's beliefs on education can be seen in approaches to teaching and learning
that are tailored to students' unique needs, interests, and cultural knowledge.
Teachers must consequently learn about their students and their motivating
interests and desires in order to uncover subject matter, events, and experiences
that appeal to students and elicit a desire to acquire the planned curriculum's
knowledge, skills, and values. Students are encouraged to apply what they've
learned to their own lives and experiences.

REFLECTION LOG

I learned that TVET, as part of lifetime learning, can occur at the secondary, post-secondary, and
university levels and involves work-based learning, ongoing training, and professional
development, all of which can lead to certifications. TVET also contains a wide range of
opportunities for skill development that are tailored to national and local situations. TVET
includes learning to learn, developing literacy and numeracy abilities, transversal skills, and
citizenship skills. There are different ideas formed by different philosophers to emphasize
different methods of how instructors relay information to learners. Also, these studies had a great
impact on our present educational system. These studies helped a lot of instructors to be more
effective and efficient in teaching.
