This document discusses the current era of human civilization known as the Information Age, which began in the mid-20th century and continues today. Defined by access to and control of information, this era was enabled by advancements like personal computers and Claude Shannon's work showing how all media could be transmitted without error. These communication and information technology developments have greatly impacted daily life and driven social evolution in recent decades, with the rise of social technologies like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram that facilitate interaction across borders independent of time.

present day, representing the current time period we are now in. The idea that access to and the control of information is the defining characteristics of this current era in human civilization and Also called the computer age, the digital age and the new media age, is coupled tightly with the advent of personal computers, but many computer historians trace its beginnings to the work of the American mathematician Claude E. Shannon showed how all information media, from telephone signals to radio waves to television could be transmitted without error using this single framework. The technological advancements in communication and information processes have greatly impacted our daily lives and have been the driving force of social evolution for the last several decades.
