ENGL 4021 L03 MINUTES
Meeting Date: August 14, 2023

Call to Order:

A regular meeting of the Course ENGL 4021 L03 of the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce (UPRP) was
held in room MTC 3 of the Ruth Fortuño Academic Building on August 14th, 2023. The meeting
convened at 1:30pm, Professor LeCompte presiding and Joel Santiago, secretary. All students attended.

Approval of Minutes:

Minutes of the August 9th, 2023, meeting were distributed to the students and approved after making
corrections.

Matters Discussed:

1. Professor Le Compte started the meeting by assigning the students a free writing exercise to do
in class. The theme was
and what would you do?

2. The professor started a pronunciation exercise with the students - using

phonemes.

3. The professor taught the students that active sentences are preferred over passive sentences for
technical documents. She also mentioned how numbers higher than ten should be written in digits
and information in bullets should have a minimum listing of two.

4. Professor Le Compte mentioned characteristics every technical document must include.

She gave insight into the following technical document characteristics:
a) Clarity
b) Accuracy
c) Comprehensiveness
d) Accessibility
e) Conciseness
f) Correctness

5. Professor Le Compte postponed s to a technical document.
