Experiment No 4 - Perform Internal socket connection
I. PRACTICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
Sockets facilitate communication between two processes on the same machine or
different machines.
A physical socket is an entry point for a power cable. A software socket is also an
entry point, but instead of accepting a power cable, it accepts a network connection
from another computer.
Universal Serial Bus (or USB - 1997) Port

It can connect all kinds of external USB devices such as external hard disk, printer,
scanner, mouse, keyboard, etc. Most of the computers provide two USB ports as
minimum.
Common types of CPU sockets include the Pin Grid Array (PGA) and the Land Grid
Array (LGA). The difference between the two is that PGA places the pins on the
processor and the holes in the socket, whereas LGA has a socket with pins that you
place the processor on.

V. MINIMUM THEORETICAL BACKGROUND:

A socket is one endpoint of a two-way communication link between two programs
running on the network. A socket is bound to a port number so that the TCP layer can
identify the application that data is destined to be sent to. An endpoint is a combination
of an IP address and a port number.
