Subject: Well Completion and Stimulation Class: Third

Time: 3 hrs
Examiner: Dr. Mohammed Abdul Ameer Date: 26 - 09 - 2020

Answer 3 questions you may assume any missing data if required.

Q1)
1- Sketch the relation between pressure and the radius (r) of the reservoir in details.
2- Why the value of ideal Pwf is not matching with the actual Pwf, explain the reason.
3- Draw the complete production system.
4- List two reason, to keep low pressure drop across the production system.
5- Explain the reason to consider the coning as a production problem.

Q2)

Given Bo=1.12 RB/STB, qo=340 STB/DAY, µo=1.2 cp, k=5.7 md, h=60 ft, also given a well
with a radius of 0.25 ft, the permeability impairment result in k/ks of 8 and the damage extends
two ft beyond the wellbore radius also calculate pressure drop due to skin, flow efficiency
(FE), Discusses the result.

Q3)

1- The shape of the buildup test takes (S) shape, draw it in details and explain why it is
take (S) shape?
2- Explain the reason to use the packers when performing the DST.
3- If the skin factor is (S= +3.25) does that well need stimulation job? What is the sign of
the pressure drop due to skin for this value?
4- Draw profile for the case of water and gas coning.
5- Explain the reason to consider the Partial completion as a damage.
Q4) A DST has been performed in area having the following information:
test flow rate Qo= 300 bbl/day, µo=2.5 cp, Bo= 1.25 bbl/day, ct= 7*10-6 psi -1, rw=4.5 “,
=0.15, h ( reservoir thickness)= 60 ft, producing time= 1.5 hr.
