Dear Admission committee,

It's a good feeling to write this reference letter for Mr.Pratit, who is hankering to get admitted into East
Tennessee State University for MS. in Biology. In the case of many students who approach me to do this,
I am selective in selecting those applicants whom I believe are germane for their desired program. Pratit
is one of those students and I am sure he is passionately going to add value to your university.

My knowing of Pratit is since his first semester of undergrad, during which, I was his project advisor and
instructed him about many experimental skills in my laboratory. He would always come to have a
discussion with me about many related research articles on the subject after the Lecture was given. I
have seen him presenting fluently many of his assignments in front of the classroom which was
presented with good writing skills. I am telling from my observation that he is a very passionate person
and has a thirst for knowledge, this attitude of his would help him to grasp the subject affairs in his
future academic career as well.

Glancing at his extracurricular activities, I observed him as someone who is capable of luring other like-
minded people together to come up with something creative each time. Sometimes he's seen publishing
books in collaboration with his seniors, sometimes he's seen publishing articles in collaboration with his
other fellow researchers. I am also recalling that, once he and his friends organized a workshop in the
college about GIS Remote Sensing, which was out of the hardcore syllabus of Agriculture but yet a very
useful tool. He was good but not a great student in securing high academic scores, but I would definitely
count him as someone who has a self-motivated mindset, continuously exploring something out of the
box and something fresh.

During assignment submissions for any topic, he would provide extra pieces of information as compared
to other students so I would count on his hardworking ability and very rarely only he replied to my mail
untimely.

Regarding admission into East Tennessee State University, Pratit mentioned to me that he is interested
to work particularly under Dr. Lev and Dr. Dhirendra whose research interests are GENE/EVOLUTION
and Hormone Signaling Path Way of Plant respectively, I am sure he can add value to above mentioned
respected professors because he had learned many numbers of lab skills relating with the same field,
which is a good count for an undergraduate student. I have faith in his academic and research
proficiencies. I am strongly recommending Pratit to get admitted into your program.

I want to wish him the best in his future academic journey at ETSU

sincerely

Ram Kumar Shrestha
