SCRIPT FOR CLVE:

Nadine: Good morning to you all! We are group 4 and today we will be presenting the situation
given to us which is: If you have a rich neighbor who became poor due to a long-time sickness,
then one day his son approached you so he can ask your father to help him look for a job but
you feel conflicted because you remember the painful things he did and said to you before,
what would you do?
At one point, most of us has already experienced our feelings being invalidated or hurt, some
people even look down on us because of our different characteristics, looks, or social standing.
Because of this we tend to hold grudges, plan for revenge, or hope for someone’s downfall. We
tend to forget the importance of forgiveness and moving on due to our anger and hatred we’ll
feel for one person. This also gives us a path to take our anger out on others and do the same
things to them. In this presentation not only, we’ll reenact a comic strip we made about this
situation, but we also hope that you guys will learn something from this and realize the
importance of forgiveness. Now let’s start!
STORY:
It was a sunny afternoon, for it was another busy day for Avery since he was a waiter at his
father’s restaurant. His father’s business recently became popular because of its delicious food
and comfortable atmosphere. It was normal for them to get a lot of people coming in and
tasting their food. They were glad because their restaurant is finally getting recognized after
many years of hardship.
But One day, a familiar person went inside. As Avery heard the chime of the bell at the door, he
was about to say “Good morning! Welcome to Joe’s!”, as his gaze turned to the entrance the
familiar figure of a teenage boy made him silent, yet he still gestured the boy to follow him to a
vacant table and gave him the menu to take his order. When the boy was done telling his order,
Avery recited his order again, but the boy cut him off and said, “Actually the reason why I came
to this restaurant is because I wanted to talk to you about something.” Avery was surprised by
what he said and nodded at him telling him he will talk to him after his shift.
Sam: A few hours later, he was finally ready to talk to the boy who was patiently waiting for
him. “What did you want to talk about?” He said curiously. “I wanted to ask for your father’s
help, for my father recently recovered from his illness, because of his medical bills we are
having a hard time getting by. I would like to ask if there are any available jobs in your father’s
establishment?” The boy asked. In disbelief Avery didn’t know what to say, remembering all the
horrible things that the rich man did to him and his father for all these years. Yet he nodded
and said “I will think about it” to the boy and walked away.
When he returned home, he wanted to tell his father about the conversation he had with his
neighbor who went to his restaurant. He called his father saying the food was ready for dinner
and then told him what happened as they were eating. The father said, “Why did you not reply
to his question properly, but you said, ‘I’ll think about it’ to him?” Avery was shocked by his
father’s question and said “Did you not remember all of the hurtful things that they have done
to us? They belittled us just because our business was not as successful as theirs, and even tried
to sabotage it when it was getting recognized because they were rich and privileged.” He said in
disbelief. His father replied, “My son, it is better to forgive than to hold grudges, for hoping for
someone’s downfall is a horrible thing to do and you’ll become corrupted because of it.” When
the father said that and agreed to give the rich man a job at his establishment, the son was
silent and quietly went to his room thinking about what his father told him.
Francis: The next day, Avery was at the front door of his neighbor’s house, he brought food as a
sign of respect and wanted to talk to the rich man about the job offer. As he rang the doorbell
multiple times, when he pressed it the 5th time someone finally answered and he saw a familiar
figure that stood upon the door, it was a middle-aged man, he looked thinner than before, yet
he greeted him with a smile and gestured Avery to come in. As he sat down in the living room
and gave the food that he brought and said “My father thought about your request, and he
agreed to give you a job offer. At first, I was hesitant, but I also agreed to it due to my father’s
persuasion.” Avery said with determination. The old man quietly smiled and said, “I’ve finally
realized the mistakes I’ve done and the horrible things I’ve committed to you and your father,
for that, I am tremendously sorry and I humbly as for your forgiveness and I thank you for your
generosity and kindness.” Avery smiled and said, “I forgive you.” And quietly walked away.
The End.
Nadine: Since we are done with the story that we made, I asked one question to the members
of the group and that question is: If you were in that Situation, what would you do?
Ella: When I was asked this question, I felt conflicted whether to forgive the old man or not. But
in the end, I have realized that I would probably do the same thing as Avery did because even
though the rich man has committed many sins towards me. I believe that everyone should be
given a second chance, and everyone should be forgiven despite the mistakes they made.
Nadine: Now it’s time for the prayer:
Nadine: Let us put ourselves in the Holy Presence of The Lord, In the name of The Father, and of
The Son, and of The Holy Spirit, Amen.
JB: We praise and thank you for all the things that you've done for us. We are deeply sorry for
the sins we have done and the mistakes we have committed. May you guide the people whose
hearts are filled with bitterness and hatred. May you guide us and help us learn the importance
of forgiveness and moving on. May you guide the families who are struggling. And grant the
hope and the strength for the unprivileged. May you heal the people who are suffering from
sickness and unimaginable pain. May you grant us the knowledge to learn from our mistakes
and may you help us be better people. Amen.
Nadine: Holy Infant Jesus of Prague…
Jesus The Divine Light…
In the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit, Amen.

Nadine: This is the end of our presentation thank you for listening !
