SpaceLogic AS Servers and RP Controllers Support

Simple and Easy to Install

Zigbee connectivity is enabled in the SpaceLogic servers and room controllers by the SpaceLogic Zigbee Adapter,
which is a USB-based dongle. The Adapter is easily pluggled into the USB host port of the controller or server and
the Zigbee wireless network is ready to be created and configured in EcoStruxure Building Operation for that server
or controller. No other hardware is required to enable the Zigbee network.

Native EcoStruxure Building Operation Experience

Zigbee devices and objects are predefined in EcoStruxure Building Operation and therefore, easy to add to a Zigbee
network. Zigbee objects are created, configured and managed in the same way that other native objects like BACnet
objects are created, configured and managed in EcoStruxure Building Operation.

Improved Security with Zigbee 3.0 Profile

The Zigbee Adapter uses the Zigbee 3.0 application profile, the latest version of the
Zigbee standard, which includes the following key features:

• Improve Security
Zigbee 3.0 comes with improved security features, which use the Advanced
Encryption Standard technique and Install codes at the Application Support
Sublayer of the profile to ensure secure wireless connectivity of the Zigbee
network. The Zigbee 3.0 improved security features are compliant with
Schneider Electric’s cybersecurity requirements.

• Unification of Existing Zigbee Profiles

One other key feature of the Zigbee 3.0 profile is its ability to unify all existing Zigbee market-application
specific profiles making it backwards compatible with any existing Zigbee network of any profile that may
have already been deployed in the building.

• Support for Green Power Devices

Zigbee 3.0 supports Zigbee Green Power Devices.

Interoperability of Devices with Zigbee Certification

The SpaceLogic Zigbee Adapter, with SpaceLogic Automation Servers and Room Controllers, is a Zigbee certified
product with the Zigbee Alliance. This ensures communication and interoperability among Zigbee devices. Therefore,
certified third-party Zigbee devices can be supported in EcoStruxure Building Operation and can exist together and
communicate with certified Schneider Electric Zigbee devices in the same network.

Automatic Zigbee Adapter Firmware Upgradability

The firmware of the SpaceLogic Zigbee Adapter is upgradable in EcoStruxure
Building Operation WorkStation as of version 3.3L. It is automatically updated when
the firmware of the SpaceLogic AS server or RP controller that it is connected to is
updated. In EcoStruxure Building Operation 2022, the firmware of the Adapter running
an older firmware version is automatically updated to the firmware version of the
parent AS or RP Controller when the Adapter is connected to the server or controller.
This ensures that the Adapter and the server or controller that it is plugged into always
have compatible firmware.

Wider Range of Device Support

SpaceLogic Zigbee Wireless supports a variety of Schneider Electric and third-party
Zigbee devices for increased flexibility with the creation of a Zigbee wireless
ecosystem for secondary HVAC control in a building. In EcoStruxure Building
Operation 2022, a total of 86 devices across 8 product ranges are supported. The list

Open Zigbee Device Support Capability

Additional Schneider Electric and third-party Zigbee devices beyond the list of supported devices can be added to
EcoStruxure Building Operation through the Zigbee Device Support Service offered by the Schneider Electric Global
Engineering Centre of Excellence. This service is available for Schneider Electric entities, EcoXpert partners and

Faster Commissioning with EcoStruxure Building Commission Mobile Application

The EcoStruxure Building Commission mobile application enables efficient configuration and
faster commissioning of Zigbee devices for RP-C and RP-V Zigbee networks. The Zigbee
devices, including the SpaceLogic SE8000 and VT8000 controllers, are supported by the
EcoStruxure Building Commission mobile application.

Flexible Architecture
In EcoStruxure Building Operation, the Zigbee wireless network supports flexible architecture,
including device enrollment under the SE8000 or VT8000 controllers in an AS-P or AS-B
Zigbee network. With this feature, you have the option to pair devices directly with a Zigbee-
enabled SpaceLogic AS server or directly with an SE8000 or VT8000 controller that has
already joined the network as a Zigbee Router.

Improve Connectivity with Flexible Mounting Options

The SpaceLogic Zigbee Adapter comes with optional mounting accessories that enable
on the ceiling, on the wall or outside of the enclosure mount. These accessories allow
the Zigbee dongle to be moved closer to the devices within the building to improve
wireless connectivity with the devices. It includes a 3 m plenum-rated cable that allows
extension of the dongle from the controller mounted in the plenum to the inside of the
room.

All release materials are posted on the EcoXpert Extranet in the Product Offering section, including a connectivity
overview video summarizing the features, an applications brochure explaining five use cases for Zigbee wireless
connectivity devices, and supported Zigbee devices brochure showing an overview of the Schneider Electric and 3rd
party wireless connectivity devices supported in EcoStruxure Building Operation 2022. Use Google Chrome as your
