Enhancing liveability

Parklet is a small seating area or green space created as a public amenity on or alongside a pavement. It is a
little ‘park’ designed to improve public amenity. Parklets help re-purpose parts of a street to create places for
people to meet, gather and relax.

Benefits to the local community include: • People staying longer on the street creating a safer public
space. • Improved streetscape amenities including more comfortable seating, bike racks, landscaping and
public art. • Additional open space. • More active use of spaces and streets.
