Document prepared by the Australian delegation to the SIMULA ONU Security

Council, a simulation by the United Nations at Colégio São José on the Israel and
Palestine conflict.

In view of the surprise attack carried out by the terrorist group

HAMAS against the state of Israel, targeting innocent civilians as its main targets, in addition to
the kidnapping of several victims by the group, with some of these hostages being partly
foreigners from other countries who were in Israel on the day of the attack. Therefore,
international action must be taken to suppress the actions of the HAMAS group and avoid as
much as possible the number of Palestinian civilians killed in the midst of the conflict.
We emphasize the fact that Israel has the right to defense
against any aggression coming from any country or group, in this case with Palestine led by the
HAMAS group being its aggressor. Furthermore, another factor that makes resolving this
conflict difficult is the use of the Palestinian people as a human shield, as a way of trying to
prevent an attack from Israel and, if they suffer, they use the images to damage Israel's image in
the world, also taking hostages. which require long negotiations to remove them.
Australia supports the creation of a humanitarian corridor
through Egypt governed by UN peacekeeping troops, allowing only the passage of citizens who
will be heavily searched, in order to prevent the passage of terrorist cells that are present in the
Gaza Strip of go to Egypt. Furthermore, we propose the release of the hostages taken by Hamas.
And after that, trying to end the HAMAS group in Gaza, with that region continuing to have its
freedom, but with UN forces being present in elections in the region in order to prevent this
group from rising to power again, and with the support of Israel to rebuild the region to prevent
the spread of hatred.
