 I can retell parts of “The Two Old Potatoes”.
Essential Question:
 What are the characters actions in the story?
Learning Objectives:
 Students will be able to recall knowledge of vocab words.

-Students are orally defining vocabulary --Vocabulary review will occur through
words Blooket. Students will play a game on Blooket
to review all vocabulary words for the week
Story Reading:
--Story will be read aloud to students they
will be following along with a slideshow on
Nearpod. On Nearpod the teacher will go
present the questions as they occur while
reading the story. There will be questions
pertaining to the story. Some questions will
be a quiz question that students need to
respond to. Other will be a discussion. The
discussion questions students will be given 3
minutes to respond to on their device, then
we will talk about the answers to the
question.
--After the story has been fully read aloud to
the students, they will then go to
MyNGConnect (reading curriculum online
site) and complete the Comprehension Coach
assignment for the story. On this the story
will be read aloud to them and there are
various questions throughout the story they
will answer.
--The comprehension coach questions will be
taken as an evaluation grade.

Lesson Plan Description:
1. Talk about vocab words around room
a. Ask what they mean
2. Students come to carpet
3. Introduce next set of vocab words
4. Students leave carpet as dismissed
a. They are to get a reading book before going back to their seat
b. Open to dictionary
5. After we finished going through previous and new vocab words student completed a
Fidget Spinner Vocabulary Organizer
a. Student were to pick one from the first set and one from the second set
b. Words were displayed on front white board
c. Go through what is needed in each circle
d. Students get 15 minutes to work
6. If students do not finish it goes in the Unfinished work folder
7. Students open to page 150
8. Listen and follow along to new story “Two Old Potatoes”
