1. Ladders are maintained in good condition,
and inspected on a monthly basis.
2. Ladders protrude at lease 1 meter above
the landings.
3. Ladders are secured by correct fittings and
placed at the correct angle (4:1)
4. Landing areas are clear of obstructions.
5. Damaged ladders are tagged out of service
and quarantined.
6. Scaffold erectors are trained and certified.
7. All scaffolds are built in accordance with
the specifications.

openings between boards.

rails at the correct height and toe boards.

16. Barricades are placed around drop zones
where scaffolds are being erected and
dismantled.
17. Tubes & fittings used for erection to be
fully secured upon being lifted.
18. Lowering of scaffold tube by hand to
utilize staggered positioning of personnel
at each level & to be undertaken in a
controlled manner. Correct hand gloves to
be used.
19. Total prohibition of the throwing of tube
or fittings at heights.
20. Check for any unauthorized alteration of
scaffold from green tag status, especially
boards or handrails.
21. Ensure scaffold platforms & correct access
is provided for all trades, especially pipe
fitters, insulator, & painters.
22. Scaffold tube & fittings to be inspected
upon striking & cleaned, maintained
accordingly.
23. Scaffolders to comply with all safety at
height securement regulations in exposed
locations.
24. Heavy loads not to be point loaded onto
scaffolds, designed not to take such loads.
25. Scaffolds to be reinspected & rectified, if
required after heavy rains, contact with a
machine or load being raised/lowered or
the excavation of a trench nearby.
