The Psychological Effects Of Violent Video Games And Movies

Who doesn't like watching movies or playing games? Those activities are fun and
exciting. However, nowadays there are many films and games that feature violent graphics. This
is certainly dangerous, especially for children and teenagers. Violent footage or graphics from
video games and movies negatively impact the psychology of children and teenagers.

Currently, there are many films and games that feature violent scenes. Research shows
that many children and teenagers are exposed and affected by these scenes of violence. The
violent scenes are not suitable to be consumed by them at their age stage.

This condition leads to a child's negative psychological changes. Some negative effects
are the change of children's behavioral factors, and child ability factors.

According to that, violent movies and video games may affect people or especially
children and teenagers to increase their aggressive behavior. This behavior usually can be seen
from how they run their daily activities. They might lose their temperament easily after just
making some simple mistakes. They also tend to act harshly or rude with their language to
people who they don't even know or even to elder people. In addition, male can be arbitrary
towards their opposite sex, women or their partners in this context. This can usually lead to
violence against women or even to persecution.

Violence in movies and video games can also result in a decrease in academic grades.
This result usually happens to children or teenagers as they are still undergoing their
educational program. Action movies and video games which consist of violence usually trigger
teenagers' interest as new entertainment for them. They will spend multiple hours playing video
games even though they are still in their school hours. This often leads to a downgrade of their
academic performance. In addition for adults, the almost same things happen in their
performance in their workplace. This will hinder their work progress and their relationship with
their peers.

Violent movies and video games provide some real psychological effects that we can
easily see. This event certainly keeps popping up because of the entertainment element in it. As
a result, people or especially teenagers will act more aggressively and decrease their grades or
performance in the education field or even their workplace. Even though it does contain some
fresh entertainment in it, violent movies and video games release process needs to be
monitored properly so as to avoid the negative impacts that may arise.
