General questions
After gaining more than 2 years of work ex in a technology field, I wanted to go for an
advanced techno - management program that would align with my interests. Among various
universities those in the US stood out to me because their curriculum offered integration of
both management and technology domains. And after researching various programs I found
northeastern’s master’s in project management a perfect fit for me with courses such as
foundations of project management, manufacturing principles and techniques, product
development. By pursuing this program, I believe I can expand my knowledge in both
technical and management domains.
2.) What is the purpose of your trip?
Northeastern University has a wide range of extracurricular activities with over 400 student
clubs and organizations available to students. Among these organizations I am looking
forward to join American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and NU Generate, which
focus on upcoming technologies and integration of business and engineering. Additionally,
Northeastern has sports program provides students with opportunities to participate in
diverse sports ranging from ultimate frisbee to soccer.
6.) How many US universities did you apply for? (Both admits and rejects)
Apart from Northeastern I had applied to 4 universities out of which I had admits from ASU,
Clark University, UT Arlington and IOWA state university.
7.) Why did you select this course, Is it relevant to your previous studies? /Why are you
changing your domain
During my undergrad I had the opportunity to learn both technological and management
subjects such as Operations research, Business communication, and Finance for engineers.
Currently, I work as a Design engineer with hands-on experience in 3D printing and project
planning based on client requirements. Pursuing a master's degree in project management
with a perfect blend of technology and management subjects will provide me with in-depth
knowledge and help me excel in my career.
Having spent the last 2 years working in the technology field, I have developed a solid
foundation in various technological aspects. However, I am eager to expand my knowledge
in both technology and management domains. Pursuing a Master's degree in project
management will allow me to delve deeper into management principles and techniques
while also honing my technical skills. By combining these two areas of expertise, I believe I
can better contribute to any organization's success.
10.) Why did you deferred your course from summer to fall semester?
I did not get a visa slot, so eventually I had to defer my application to fall semester.

13.) What are you plans after completing your studies? /What are your future plans? /What
are your plans after master’s
Yes, there are various opportunities in India after the completion of my master’s. Job
prospects include working as a Project manager, technical manager, Operations Manager,
Product Manager and so on with average salaries starting from 25lakhs.
15.) Do you intend to work in US during or after completion of your studies?/do you plan to
use the opt period?
After completion of my master’s, I’ll be coming back to India where I will be choosing to
work for an Indian tech giant as my sole intent of going to the US is to procure my Master's
degree and I am fully financially capable to support my studies during the stay.
17.) Why you want to work with Indian companies and not US Companies? /How will you
prove that you will come back to India?
After spending two years working in India, I have built strong professional networks and
gained valuable insights into the local market and culture. With this experience, I am
confident that I have a competitive edge in my upcoming job search following the
completion of my master's degree. Moreover, my international exposure and higher
education will undoubtedly prove to be an asset in this pursuit.
Considering that this will be my first international trip, I intend to make the most of my time
in Boston by exploring different places while simultaneously preparing for my upcoming
semester. If my schedule allows it, I would also like to visit my parents in India.
19.) Tell me more about the concentration’s Northeastern offers in project management and
which concentration are you planning to take?
Northeastern university offers 7 different concentrations to choose from such as Agile
Project Management, Analytics, Construction Management, Leadership, Leading and
Managing technical projects, organizations communication and project business analysis.
Boston, the capital and biggest city in Massachusetts, boasts a temperate climate featuring
hot summers and cold winters. With an extensive public transportation system comprising
subways, trains, and buses, the city's "T" subway system, being the oldest in the US,
efficiently caters to most areas. The city is home to numerous world-renowned attractions,
including Fenway Park, Boston Common, and the Museum of Fine Arts, to name a few.
What set these universities apart for me was their course curriculum, and I found that
Northeastern's Project Management program struck a balance between management and
technology domains. With courses such as Foundations of Project Management,
Manufacturing Principles and Techniques, and Product Development, I am confident that I
can gain valuable management techniques while enhancing my proficiency in technical skills.

I am looking forward to learn under the guidance of professors Jack Alexis and Lilo Altali.
Professor Alexis is an expert in general management, operations management, and portfolio
management, which will enable me to gain a more profound understanding of various
management principles and techniques. Meanwhile, Professor Altali's expertise in product
development will allow me to enhance my technical skills. I look forward to learning from
both of them
