GUIDELINES FOR WRITING THE SIP REPORT: The SIP report must reflect 8 weeks of
work and justify the same. Prepare the SIP report after reading the guidelines thoroughly.

Company Profile: Brief overview of the SIP Company to include some aspects in the sequence given
below such as
1) Company background – history, group, year of inception, Headquarters
2) Company promoters, Chairman / MD / CMD, CEO,
3) Key collaborations,
4) Vision, Mission, Values, Quality Policy,
5) Awards, Certifications, etc.
6) Geographical presence across globe / India
7) Product portfolio across globe & India
8) Size of firm- production capacity, workforce size etc.
9) Closest competitors
10) Key customers
11) Latest financials with past trend (Don’t paste P&L or Balance Sheet statements; use charts to
highlight key financials)
12) Company CSR activities / initiatives / tie ups, etc.,

Industry Profile: Brief overview of industry/ sector to which the company belongs to include aspects
such as –
1) Description of the Industry

6) Scope of the study
1) Findings through data analysis must be related to the objective/s of the study. One can use MS Excel
or simple mathematical formulae or statistical tools to analyze the data.
2) For research based projects involving primary data the Data analysis is done by analyzing each
question. The page layout for each question is

Descriptive statistics – Table with data/ statistical calculations. A separate number should
be given to each table. The same is to be updated in the index of tables.
A graphical / pictorial representation of the data. A separate number should be given to

A brief statement on the observations / the interpretations drawn from the data. (2-3 lines)
A brief statement on obtained from the observations (2-3 lines).
3) Secondary data analysis is done using the existing data provided by the organization. E.g.:
balance sheet analysis.
Note: The observations and findings must be based on data analysis and related to the
project under study. One should not include any personal opinions which are not supported
by data.
a) Sales & Marketing: Generating client database, client acquisition, market research, Web page
design, content development, online marketing, innovative marketing strategies, relationship
management, etc.
b) Financials: Reduction in inventory cost, working capital management, ratio analysis, operating
expenses analysis, etc.
c) Operations: Process time reduction, reduction in defects, reduction in non-value added activities/
waste, process improvement initiatives, developing SOPs, etc.
d) Knowledge: Process documentation, manuals and format development, legal compliances, analysis
of various surveys, etc.
