2.1 Presentation Many types of products, both household and professional-use items, are covered by separate waste collection

bring products to market – manufacturers, importers and distributors of the products that generate waste.

The first regulated national Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) chain was set up in 1992 to collect
household packaging waste. Similar collection systems were later instituted for batteries and accumulators
