EXTRA QUESTIONS

1. A box contains 12 balls of which some are red in colour. If 6 more red balls are put in the
box and a ball is drawn at random, the probability of drawing a red ball doubles than what
it was before. Find the number of red balls in the bag.

(i)exactly two heads (ii)at least two heads (iii)at least two tails

4. A bag contains 18 balls out of which x balls are red

(i) if one ball is drawn at random, what is the probability that it is not red?

!
(ii) if 2 more red balls are added to the bag, the probability of drawing a red ball will be
"
times the probability of drawing a red ball in the first case. Find the value of x.

5. A dice is rolled twice. Find the probability that

(i) 5 will not come up either time

(ii) 5 will come up exactly one time

6. Two dice are thrown simultaneously. Find the probability of getting a doublet.
7. A class has 15 girls and 10 boys. The teacher calls on a student at random to answer a
question. Express in decimal form, the probability that the student called upon is a
