Participate and Assist

What will you do to assist your mentor in setting up a conducive learning environment in the
following conditions:

1. Bulletin Board Display


 For me to be able to assist my Resource Teacher in terms of Bulletin Board Display is
to provide suggestions and ideas in creating a creative and informative bulletin
board display. In addition, I will also help my mentor in conducting research in
making innovations towards existing bulletin board.
2. Small Group Discussion
 For small Group Discussion, since it was only a small discussion, I will ask permission
to my Resource Teacher to allow me to facilitate the activity. I will initiate in giving
materials and topic as well to the students. However, with the guidance of my CT, I
will check the performance of every student.
3. Checking class attendance in a virtual classroom (i. e. google meet or zoom)
 Based on my experience during our google meeting, it is hard to take attendance if
you`re not facing the students. S. to help my CT in attendance checking, I will ask her
if she allows the students to open their camera and take the chance to hear them
say present.

Analyze

The examples above, describe two contrasting situations. The first shows that the learners
are in the same room or space while in the second, the learners maybe in different learning spaces
like homes, study hubs or in extreme cases parks or under the trees.

As a teacher, in which of the two situations would you prefer to manage the learning?
Choose between Learning Environment 1 and Learning Environment 2.

Explain your choice: Why?

 As a teacher, I will choose the learning environment 1 or the same room. Since
learning should be flexible, the students need to adjust for their learning
environment. This will benefit both students and teachers. First, students will learn
how to communicate and socialize with others. Their lives would not be limited in
the four corners of their home. It will also open new opportunities to them, like
friendship, discovering skills and showing talents. Second, it will help the teachers to
assess whether the student need special treatment or not. In addition, the educator
can assure that all the students are learning and present with her.
