TASK 1: The chart below shows the total number of minutes ( in billions) of

telephone calls in the UK, divided into three categories, from 1995-2002

The chart gives information about phone usage in the UK, divided into three
categories, between 1995 and 2002.
Overall, people often used this kind of local - fixed line, which has been
creeping up for four years and there was a sharp fall during the next three years. In
contrast, the proportion of minutes of national and international - fixed line and
mobiles have been increasing over the past eight years.
From 1995 to 1998, local - fixed line showed the highest number of British
among three categories telephone calls types, at 90 billions. Furthermore, the
amount of local - fixed line has consistently doubled from 70 to 90 billions. By
contrast, the proportion of national and international - fixed line increased more
slowly than local - fixed, from 37 to over 48 billion, followed by that of mobiles,
which increased from two to around ten billion phone usage.
Despite the fact that the local - fixed line occupied the top position, it dipped
sharply between 1999 and 2002, at 75 billion. Meanwhile, there was an increase to
42 billion in the number of mobiles and reduce the gap.

TASK 2: Some people think that it is more beneficial to take part in sports
