Isaiah 40:1-5
The Perfect Gift 1 “Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.
The Perfect Gift
2 “Speak tenderly to Jerusalem. Tell her that her
sad days are gone and her sins are pardoned.
Yes, the LORD has punished her twice over for all
her sins.”

3 Listen! It’s the voice of someone shouKng, “Clear

the way through the wilderness for the LORD!
Make a straight highway through the wasteland
for our God!

rough places.

5 Then the glory of the LORD will be revealed,

1) The glory of the Lord is the expression of God’s
person
2) It is the manifesta?on of God’s character
3) It is the manifesta?on of His aBributes in the
world & the universe

The Perfect Gift 2. Moses
The Perfect Gift Exodus 33:17-18

in my sight, and I know thee by name. 18 And he said,
I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.

3. Daniel 12:8
8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my

Lord, what shall be the end of these things? 9 And he

said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up
and sealed Kll the Kme of the end.
1 Peter 1:10
The Old Testament prophets searched what they wrote, to see
what person or what manner of Kme it referred to. But it was not
revealed unto them, says Peter, but unto us.

given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

Job 26:14, “these are but the outskirts of His ways: and
how small a whisper do we hear of Him?”

The Perfect Gift Let’s look at the NEW DAY!

The Perfect Gift Is. 40:3
3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness,

Prepare ye the way of the LORD, Make straight in

the desert a highway for our God. (KJV)

5 Then the glory of the LORD will be revealed,

and all people will see it together. The LORD has
spoken!”*
