Foods are essential to providing humans and other living things with energy to survive, but some believe certain foods can impact behavior. The document examines whether Monosodium glutamate (MSG), a flavor enhancer found naturally in many foods, affects human behavior. While some in Indonesia think MSG makes people "dumb" and impacts behavior negatively, the document argues this is a myth. MSG is found naturally in many foods in small amounts and plays a role in metabolism. As long as MSG intake stays within recommended limits of 120 mg per kg of body weight per day, it likely does not negatively impact human behavior.

Foods are one of humans primary needs in life. Not only humans, but also animals, plants and other living things. Humans can’t live without foods because they need energies to continue living their life. But have it’s own benefit. Wether it’s good or not. There are plenty of foods was made in this world and it’s made to fulfill the needs of living things including humans. In my opinion, foods that humans eat might be able to affect their behavior, depends on what are they consuming and how much they consume the food. First we can take a look from how much nutrition contains in one food, not the stigma of people. We can take an example of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG). MSG is the sodium salt of glutamic acid, that is, one of the constituent non-essential amino acids protein found in almost all fruits, vegetables, and meat. And many people believe that it is able to increase consumer’s mind. In Indonesia many people have a stygma believes that MSG make people dumb and having a bad behavior. Whereas, the fact is MSG is 20 times bigger than a cow milk and actually Glutamate has a central role in various body metabolism, among others as intermediate elements of the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, and fat wich is good in my personal opinion. So I analyzed that actually it is a myth that MSG doesn’t have a bad impact on humans behavior, like what people have been believeing in Indonesia. MSG will be just fine if it’s consumed according to the right measurement wich is maximum 120 mg / kg body weight per day. So any food that people eat doesn’t really affect their behavior, but they still have to maintain their nutrition of the food that they consume.
