1. In not less than 200 words, write an essay about Assessment in the 21 st Century
and your role as a future teacher. Your answer should include Introduction, Body
and Conclusion.

Pen and paper assessments have been the primary mechanism for evaluating
educational outcomes throughout the last few decades. The adoption of 21st century
skills in educational systems is also facing new challenges due to growing interest.
We need assessment techniques that make the skills themselves explicit if we want
to help students' learning of these abilities.

As a future educator, it is necessary to applied the 21 st century assessment Since we

are now in modern society where technology works in our educational systems. It
allows students to embrace their inner strengths from big-picture planning to
meticulous organization. As the student learns about their creativity, they also learn
how to express it in healthy and productive ways. More importantly, they also
become motivated to share that creativity with others. We are being literate in
technology that benefits us in the near future teaching my students a modern tolls
can help them to keep up on how the world innovates. a future educator,
Assessment is an integral part of instruction, as it determines whether or not the
goals of education are being met. Assessment affects decisions about grades,
placement, advancement, instructional needs, curriculum, and, in some cases,
funding. The purposes of assessments designed to measure 21 st century skills, such
as to provide information for school accountability, to evaluate individual student
progress, to focus public attention on educational concerns, or to change
educational practices by influencing curriculum and instruction. As 21 st Century
Skills are considered the most important skills to succeed in today’s workplace. 21 st
Century Skills include skills like critical thinking, communication, technology
literacy, and more. Students will need to develop these skills in the classroom so
they can have great careers in the future.

In conclusion, adoption of 21st century skills in educational systems is also facing

new challenges due to growing interest. We need assessment techniques that make
the skills themselves explicit if we want to help students’ learning of these abilities;
in other words, we need to hunt for new alternatives. Where testing procedures are
carried out using conventional methods that everyone finds convenient, systematic,
and affordable.
2. In at least 100 words, as a future teacher, what benefits would it give you if you
know everything about the Types of Assessment?

There are Different types of assessments the Diagnostic Assessment (as Pre-Assessment),
Formative Assessment. Summative Assessment. Norm-Referenced Assessment. Criterion
Referenced Assessment. Interim/Benchmark Assessment that can help you understand
student progress in various ways. This understanding can inform the teaching
strategies you use, and may lead to different adaptations. As a future educator I can be able
to measure what type of assessment to use.

In classroom, assessments generally have one of three purposes: the Assessment of learning,
Assessment for learning, Assessment as learning, Assessment of learning. As a future educator I
can use assessments to help me identify if students are meeting grade-level standards.
Assessments of learning are usually grade-based, and can include: Exams, Portfolio, projects,
Standardized tests. Assessments for learning provide you with a clear snapshot of student learning
and understanding as you teach – allowing you to adjust everything from your classroom
management strategies to your lesson plans as you go. Assessments for learning should always be
ongoing and actionable. When you’re creating assessments. Assessment as learning actively
involves students in the learning process. It teaches critical thinking skills, problem-solving and
encourages students to set achievable goals for themselves and objectively measure their progress.

The major purpose of assessment in schools is to provide interpretative information to teachers

about their impact on students, so that these educators have the best information possible about
what steps to take with instruction and how they need to change and adapt as tool to develop the
their students performance. The 6 types of assessment can measures and can we use assessment in
schools to inform students of their progress and attainment. Of course this is important, but it is
more critical to use this information to inform teachers about their impact on students. Using
assessments as feedback for teachers is powerful. And this power is truly maximized when the
assessments are timely, informative, and related to what teachers are actually teaching.

3. As future teacher, briefly discuss your major role in Performance-Based

Assessment. Are there issues you can cite as far as Performance-Based Assessment
is concerned? Support your claim. Your answer should not be less than 150 words.

performance-based assessment measures students' ability to apply the skills and

knowledge learned from a unit or units of study. Typically, the task challenges students to
use their higher-order thinking skills to create a product or complete a process. The
purpose of a performance assessment is to improve the student learning experience and
evaluate the effectiveness of lesson plans. These assessments measure how well a
student can apply the knowledge they’ve learned, not if they can recall the knowledge.
However, performance-based assessments can be applied to almost any lesson and any
objective. For example, children could be asked to design and carry out an experiment in
science, write and perform a poem in English, or create a series of themed paintings in
art. In general, these assessments can take many forms. Performance based assessments
closely tied to this new way of teaching provide teachers with more information about
the learning needs of their students and enable them to modify their methods to meet
these needs. They also allow students to assess their own progress and, therefore, their
are more responsible to their education.

4. In not less than 100 words, explain the importance of Affective Learning
Assessment. Relate your answer to your field of specialization.

Affective learning is concerned with how learners feel while they are learning, as
well as with how learning experiences are internalized so they can guide the learner’s
attitudes, opinions, and behavior in the future. As a student it is necessary it is not
just about measuring or enhancing our Knowledge and skills but also our attitudes
that’s makes our asset in the future. as a math major does it means we only need to
enhance our skills and knowledge about math, it is also required to learn and develop
our attitudes toward the subject. We all know math is a complex , it also teach us to
be patient and have perseverance to make our goals to solve a given problem. That’s
why affected learning is also necessary. Knowledge of their students’ affective
characteristics leads to more targeted instruction and successful learning experiences
for students. Because students are able to focus on affective development in concert
with cognitive development, they are more likely to be successful. Affective
assessments measure what students will do in the future. When teachers measure
children’s attitudes toward the democratic process, we gain insights into how they
will likely act toward the democratic system when they grow up.
