EQUALITY
What does equality mean?

The definition of equality is "the characteristic or state of being equal;


correspondence." in amount, degree, worth, status, or competence. Usually, equality is
easy to comprehend: three buckets, each containing five apples are on an equal basis.
They all have the exact same quantity of the same items.

EQUALITY
What does equity mean?

The word equity is defined as “the quality of being fair or impartial; fairness;
impartiality” or “something that is fair and just.” Equality is simple; equity is more difficult.

The difficulty with equity is that opinions on what is "just" or "fair" frequently
diverge. Due to the subjective nature of these ideas, laws and regulations that seek to
achieve equity are contested or frequently brought up in court. Due to social justice
worries and an increasing understanding of equity, fairness for historically oppressed
communities is a goal. Minority groups may in the law despite having equal rights, they
continue to be mistreated.

Indigenous peoples have not only fought for equality, but continue to fight for equity in
society

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EQUIALITY TO EQUITY?

Despite the fact that the words equity and equality may sound similar,
implementing. Comparing one to the other can have very different effects on oppressed
individuals. Giving every person or group the same resources or opportunities is
referred to as equality. Equity understands that every person has unique circumstances,
provides the precise opportunities and resources required to produce an equivalent
result.
