P inoy pride, also known as Filipino pride, is a unique perspective on being Filipino and a
manifestation of Filipino nationalism.

Pinoy pride is the belief that the people and culture of the Philippines should support the country’s
interests by creating and sustaining a national identity based on widely shared features such as
language, race, religion, and political ambitions.

The Importance of bayanihan in our lives as a country cannot be overstated. Bayanihan is the glue that
holds our country together. It is the antidote to the tribalism and regionalism that keep us apart. It is a
source of pride for us. Filipinos will not abandon you. Filipinos look out for one another. We are forgiving
people. But there are times when, in the spirit of bayanihan, we unite together to put a stop to
dictatorial and corrupt administrations.

In Filipino culture, respect is extremely important. Elders, parents, grandparents, older siblings, relatives,
friends, and teachers are all treated with respect. Respect can be demonstrated in a variety of
ways, using “po” at the end of sentences when speaking to elders “Opo” is a respectful way of
responding to “yes.” “Ate” or “Kuya” when addressing your older sister or brother. Respecting your
parents and teachers by paying attention to what they have to say. Requesting blessings from your elder
relatives using the phrase “mano po”. Hospitality is a well-known feature of the Philippines and its
people. It’s one of those distinguishing characteristics that is so strongly associated with being a Filipino.
Warmly welcoming visitors comes so effortlessly to Filipinos that it almost appears ingrained into their
systems.

The generosity virus known as Community Pantry is spreading across the country. The spirit of
‘bayanihan’ is alive and well in the Philippines. Everyone recognizes compassion and kindness as a
universal language. Filipinos are known for their generosity. We always share what we have with people
around us, even if we have very little. There are several delicacies specially made for everyone at special
events like as birthdays or “fiestas” —parties where people from different places come to your home to
celebrate with you! Friends, family, friends of friends, and even strangers are always prepared to offer
meals and lend a hand. When a neighbor is in need, Filipinos are always willing to lend a hand.
