Who is eligible to receive the equity discount?
To receive an equity discount your company must meet the below two criteria:
● ≥50% owned by the following groups:
○ Black
○ Indigenous
○ People of Color (members of racialized groups)
○ Women or female-identified
○ People with disabilities
○ Veterans
○ LGBTQIA
AND
● <$5 million in annual revenue

How can I apply for the equity discount?

You can apply for the discount within the B Impact Assessment after you have submitted your Assessment
for review (left side menu, B Corporation Certification > Fees & Discounts) by providing the eligibility criteria
your company meets. If your request is approved, the 40% discount will be added to your invoice for the
first certification term (aka the first three years after initial certification). Discounts are subject to change.

B Lab U.S. & Canada is committed to creating an inclusive economy that works for all. Minority
entrepreneurs have been historically and systemically excluded from the shared and durable prosperity
all people deserve. In providing this equity discount, we hope to make the B Corp movement more
accessible to entrepreneurs that belong to continually oppressed communities. We welcome the
professional insights and personal lived experiences these leaders bring to the B Corp community and
movement, and will continue to explore and implement structural changes that benefit diverse
businesses.
