DAILY LESSON LOG Teacher EXPEDITO R. Learning Area SMAW
JACINTO
Teaching Dates 10-02-23 7:45 TO 9:45 1st
and Time 2 hour Quarter

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard Demonstrates an understanding of the concepts and underlying principles in performing
measurements and calculations.
B. Performance Standard Perform accurate measurements and calculation based on the given tasks.
C. Learning Competencies Perform four fundamentals operations
II. CONTENT Four Fundamental Operation(1.1Addition 1.2 Subtraction 1.3 Multiplication 1.4 Division)
III. LEARNING RESOURCES CG, TG, LM, DLP
A. References
1. Curriculum Guide pages CG p. 3; TLE_IAAW7/8MC-0d-1
2. Textbook’s pages LM p. 43 – 50
3. Additional Resources https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yE3eQ6q39f4
4. Other Learning Resources LED TV, DLP, picture, realia
IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing Previous Lesson
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson The students will solve the following on the board.
1. 456 2. 987 3. 15 4. 4/352
+123 -18 + 25

C. Presenting Examples/instances of new lesson The four fundamental operation skills should be developed in Shielded Metal Arc work. Inaccurate
operation would mean waste of time, effort, materials and quality of product.
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills
#1 Ask the students to use four fundamental operations in metal works?
Estimating/ Purchasing of the following materials/supplies:
- Welding rod
- Angle/square bar
- Paint
- Sand stone

E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills Tell the students that performing the four fundamental operations entail a process.
#2 Guide the students in process using four fundamental operations
Demonstrate/apply procedure in Adding, Subtracting/Multiplying whole numbers based on the
above activities

F. Developing Mastery Sample Analysis: Computation

- Addition
- To add whole numbers horizontally is more difficult than adding them,
vertically. Example,
20 + 15 + 30 + 25 = 90, this method is not commonly used because mistakes
can occur more
- Subtraction
Procedure:
-Subtract the subtrahend from the minuend to get the remainder.
To Check:
Add remainder to subtrahend to get the minuend.
Example: 5 6 8
-
43

525
– is the minuend
– is the subtrahend
– is the remainder
– is in the ones place
– is in the tens place
– is in the hundreds place
- Multiplication
- Procedure:
Multiply the multiplicand by the multiplier to get the product.
To Check:
Reverse multiplicand and multiplier the multiply again to get the product or
divide theproduct by the multiplier to get the multiplicand.
- Example: 1 5 0 - Multiplicand
X7 - Multiplier

- 7 5 0 - Product
- Division
Procedure:
Divide dividend by divisor to get the quotient
To Check:
Multiply the divisor by the quotient or vice versa to get the dividend
54 – Quotient 54 - Quotient
5 √ 270 - Dividend x 5 - Divisor
25
- 5 Divisor

G. Finding practical application of concepts and skills In welding services, computation of materials is done through addition, subtraction, multiplication
in daily living and division. How can you apply these in purchasing materials?

H. Making generalizations and abstractions about the I have enhanced my skills in using the four fundamental operations in Shielded Metal Arc
lesson Welding. It is with great help in estimating and purchasing the materials needed.
I. Evaluating Learning Performance Test
Solve the following:
1. 20+15+30+25= 3. 150*7=
2. 568-43= 4. 25/4=
J. Additional activities for applications or remediation

V. REMARKS

VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned 80% in the
evaluation
B. No. of learners who continue to require
remediation
C. Which of my teaching strategies worked
well? Why did these work?
D. What difficulties did I encounter which my
principal or supervisor can help me solve?
E. What innovation or localized materials did I
use/discover which I wish to share with other
teachers?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which my
principal or supervisor can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized materials did I
use/discover which I wish to share with other
teachers?
