WARTSILA \Wartsilal Propulsion NetheriandsiBV, In order to make a good propeller design it is important to define a number of propeller design conditions. For the propeller design of a twin screw anchor handling supply vessel, which will be built at Batamec with hull number 7022 and 7023, a number of design conditions are defined. These design conditions are based on the information received from the customer, information from the Technical specification and previous designs of AHTS. The different design conditions are: 4. MCR, Free sailing ahead, design draft. Delivered power to propeller Ps 4000 * 0.97 = 3880 [kW] Shipspeed V, 15.0 [knots] Wake fraction Wer 0.20. [4 Propeller speed N- 136.8 [rpm Draft aft Tox 6.00 [rm] 2. MCR, Free sailing ahead, ballast draft. Delivered power to propeller P; 4000 * 0.97 = 3880 [kW] Shipspeed V, 18.5 [knots] ‘Wake fraction We 0.20 F] Propeller speed N- 135.8 [rpm] Draft aft To 450° [m] 3. Bollard pull condition Delivered power to propeller Py 3880 Ky Shipspeed Vv, 00 knots] Propeller speed N 1358 [rpm] Draft aft Tw 600-450 fm] ‘The estimated bollard pull is 130 ton. This bollard pull is based on two propellers running in a 19A-nozzle at 100% MCR and a thrust deduction of 0.10. WARTSILA BIE aistmn enemas) 6. DP condition Delivered power to propeller Pe 0- 3880 [KW] Shipspeed Ve 0.0 {knots} Propeller speed N 135.8 [rpm] Draft aft Ta 600-450 {m) Since there are no modeltest / EHP-curves available for this vessel, the ship speed as given by the customer is used to determine the design conditions. The propeller is running in a 19A nozzle with LID = 05 Because there is no information about the mission profile of the vessel we have made the next assumptions for the mission profile: + 40 % of the time at open sea with 85% MCR — 200 kW PTO power for hotel accommodation with a ship speed of approx. 14.5 knots. In this mode the propeller is running at constant rpm. * 30 % of the time at 4.0 knots 85% MCR — 200 kW PTO power for hotel accommodation. In this mode the propeller is running at constant rpm. * 30% of the time manoeuvring, DP or Fire Fighting mode. In this mode the propeller is running at constant rpm. Furthermore the following drawings are used, + Lines plan C4003/D-1 revo © General arrangement C4003/G-1 rev Because no wakefield is measured for this vessel an estimation for this wakefield has to be made. This estimation of the wakefield will be done based on the above mentioned drawings. Also for the estimation of the wakefield we like to receive the position and dimensions of the struts in front of the propeller
