UNIQUE Portable Dry Powder Fire Extinguishers are handheld, multipurpose fire extinguishers which can be effectively
used for Class A, B, C and E fires.
ABC Powder, the dry chemical powder agent in these extinguishers, is a non-conductor of electricity and is not
dangerous to humans or animals. This makes dry powder fire extinguishers the ideal equipment to use during danger-
ous mixed-class fires but their use should be avoided for fires which involve carbon disulphite and flammable metals
such as magnesium and sodium (Class D fires).
UNIQUE Portable Dry Powder Fire Extinguishers are available in five (5) convenient sizes: 1kg, 2kg, 4kg, 6kg and 9kg.

UNIQUE Portable Foam Fire Extinguisher is a 9-litre extinguisher and it is specially suited for fires involving materials such

CD Automatic Sprinkler
A CD (Chang Der) Model A automatic sprinkler has an in-built 5mm diameter heat-sensitive glass bulb that shatters
when a pre-determined amount of heat from a fire reaches it. Once broken, the orifice seal is released and water is
discharged from the sprinkler in a spray pattern to douse the fire.
CD sprinkler models comply with UL 199 standard for automatic sprinklers for fire protection and is BOMBA approved.

CD Waterflow Alarm Valve System
The CD Waterflow Alarm Valve System is installed in a sprinkler system to actuate a fire alarm when the flow of water
from the sprinkler system is more than that of a single sprinkler. The water supply pressure causes an alarm valve clapper
to open and the resultant water flow into the alarm line activates the alarm.
Fluctuations and surges in water mains supply pressure is prevented by a separate bypass connection and by first
routing the water through a retard chamber.
CD Concealed Pendent Fire Protection Sprinkler

The CD Concealed Pendent Fire Protection Sprinkler is so named because, for aesthetic reasons, an external plate
hides the pendent from view.
The plate is soldered in three places to the sprinkler’s special upper support assembly. Sufficient heat from a fire will
cause the release of the plate. The exposed pendent spray sprinkler then discharges water in a hemispherical pattern
to extinguish the flames.

VIKING Alarm Check Valve with Water Motor Alarm

The VIKING Alarm Check Valve works together with the VIKING Water Motor Alarm to sound a continuous alarm when
a water sprinkler is actuated. The check valve traps the pressurised water above the clapper and prevents reverse flow
from sprinkler piping.
The valve will also trigger the Water Motor Alarm, a mechanical device which is actuated by a flow of water, during
sustained water flow, such as when a sprinkler is in operation.

System Sensor’s WFD Series fit Schedules 10 to 40 steel pipes (2”- 8” sizes) and can be installed in vertical or horizontal
positions. The detector’s rugged NEMA 4 rated housing can withstand temperatures of 32°F - 120°F, which makes it
ideal for both indoor and outdoor use.
A mechanical retard feature in the WFD reduces the risk of false alarms due to pressure surges or air trapped in the

EPS 10 Series switches are used in wet, dry, deluge and pre-action automatic sprinkler systems to signal any leakage
from a sprinkler. The switch has a field adjustable pressure sensitivity feature (between 4 psi and 20 psi) that triggers an
alarm response to rising pressure. Choose either the EPS 10-1 model (1 SPDT switch) or the EPS 10-2 (2 SPDT switches).

HD Medium Velocity Water Spray Nozzle

Use HD’s non-automatic Medium Velocity (MV) water
spray nozzles in deluge water spray systems to give special
hazard fire protection. Small droplets of water are
discharged via an external deflector in a solid cone
shaped pattern that uniformly covers the surfaces to be
protected. This action cools the surfaces (whether vertical,
horizontal, curved or irregular), prevents excessive heat
absorption from fire and averts structural damage or
spread of fire.
To suit different water spray systems, MV nozzles are

avaiable in several combinations of orifice sizes and spray
angles.

UNIQUE Heat Detector

The UNIQUE Heat Detector (Model AH 0333) is a rate-of-rise detector that automatically monitors the change in
temperature in an enclosed area and responds to a rapid rise in temperature by sending the signal to the fire indicator
panel to sound an alarm to warn of a fire in progress.
Heat-sensitive elements in the unit detect the difference between the ambient temperature and the thermal heat
caused by convection or radiation from a heat source such as a fire. The increase per minute, regardless of the starting
temperature, is the rate-of-rise of temperature in the area.
For fire prevention, UNIQUE Heat Detector should be installed in places where a smoke detector is not appropriate,
such as in areas where smoke is a natural part of the surroundings or operations.

UNIQUE Manual Call Point

The UNIQUE Manual Call Point is used to send a signal to occupants in a building that a fire exists within the building.
Snapping the glass by pressing on its centre will activate an alarm. It is used in fire detection systems with central control
equipment and meets the requirements of BS5839 Part 2.

Unique Smoke Detector Device

Heat and smoke detectors should be tested from time to time to ensure that they are in working order. The UNIQUE
Smoke Detector Test Device (Model AH-03128) is designed to reach and easily test the detectors even if they are
installed on high ceilings.
To test a heat detector, the tester device uses an in-built gas torch to briefly increase the temperature around the heat
detector until the LED lights in the detector switches on to indicate that the unit is working. Smoke detectors are tested
using the same tester to spray aerosol particles into the detector. The smoke detector is in working order when the LED
lights in the detector switch on.

UNIQUE Fire Blanket
Use UNIQUE Fire Blanket to extinguish small incipient fires by placing the blanket over the fire to smother it and cut off
oxygen supply. They can also be draped over a person or objects to protect them from being singed or burnt. Made
of fire retardant material, UNIQUE fire blankets can continuously withstand operating temperatures of 600°C. They are
inexpensive, quick to use and easy to maintain and store.

UNIQUE Smoke Curtain

UNIQUE Industrial Smoke Curtains have high tensile strength and are used to contain the spread of fire in ‘uncloseable’
areas, that is, where there are no structures in place (such as doors) to prevent applied fire retardants from escaping.
The smoke curtains are inexpensive, rot-proof and non-combustible. The release mechanism for the curtains is
operated electrically.
