Typically when writing essays I start with my thesis and first paragraph, then I

write a sentence or two for each paragraph I intend on writing. Doing this helps create a

layout for the essay. For this assignment I tried something a little different. I decided to

just let it flow out. I wanted to see if I were able to create a flow without having to create

an outline first. I thought this process worked ok for me. I will say though this process

was a little bit harder to organize. It was harder to stay on track and not accidentally

move off the point I was trying to make. It was really easy to get lost in my words and

ended up with a lot of run-on sentences. Due to this way of writing, the editing took a lot

longer. I had to go back a lot and try to figure out what I was trying to say and connect

pieces of the writing together. Verses if I just had it layed out and structured from the

beginning I wouldn’t have had to do as much editing. Looking back I probably would not

use this method again just because it took so much longer and honestly was a bit more

stressful. It was like trying to piece together a puzzle. Although trying new styles is good

and I’m glad I tried it, I will stick to what I know has worked for me in the past because I

know it will work for me in the future.
