Memo To Roni
RONI’S PIZZA
MEMORANDUM
TO: P. Roni
SUBJECT: Analysis and Recommendations for Streamlining the Pizza Order Process
Dear P. Roni,
I have recently completed a comprehensive analysis of our store's existing pizza order
process and I have identified areas of complexity within the system. In response, I have
put forth a set of recommendations designed to streamline this process. The central
objective of this order process is to accurately record information in our system and
ensure that payments match order forms.
Complex Sorting: The division of orders into piles complicates the process and
results in redundant actions.
Redundant Actions: Several steps are repeated, such as re-checking math and
manually entering data into spreadsheets. These redundancies are time-
consuming and could be eliminated for increased efficiency.
Error Correction: The need to compare order forms against the spreadsheet to
correct errors indicates a lack of accuracy in the initial stages of processing.
Eliminate Piling by Division Number: To attain a better flow within the order
process, we propose eliminating the sorting by division number. This change
simplifies the process leading to less required training and labor.
In conclusion, the proposed process offers several advantages over the current process. It
enhances efficiency, streamlines the workflow, and significantly reduces the likelihood of
errors. Attached to this memo, you will find both the current and proposed process
flowcharts, providing a visual representation of the changes.
Sincerely,
Operation Assistant
