of the position is to assists to build & maintain healthy financing portfolio of Ubank.

Through a team of Verification Officers, the incumbent will ensure compliance of


financing Policy & Procedure and Shariah guidelines that adequate controls are
maintained while extending financing to borrowers. Scope includes to identify the
Service Quality Laps, Financing assessment, verification of credit worthiness, and
supervisory review of assigned Verifications officers. This positon is also responsible to
monitor Sharia compliance & reporting of any unethical & non sharia practices.

Job Responsibilities

 Financing Procedures and Compliance as per bank Credit Operation Manual


 Supervise and manage the team of Verification Officers and ensure their
independence at branches & at area level.
 Ensure that VOs are properly trained on Shariah Policy & guidelines, bank
credit / financing products, analysis, field verifications, and documentations etc.
 ACA is responsible to develop ability to detect early warning signals that may
impact financing portfolio, customer service’s Bank reputation or any risk involve
in the business.
 Ensure VOs Perform pre disbursement physical verification(s) as per policy,
procedures and as per criteria / frequency defined from time to time & Conduct
periodic sampled based field & branch’s visit for portfolio review & quality
assurance.
 Maintain branch wise VO file processing Log of all cases received / approved /
forwarded/ rejected or declined & same to be reported to area, region & HO
level. This report will also be used as tool for capacity building of VO’s &
customer service improvement.
 Address issues in credit assessment identified through supervisory reviews,
internal / external reviews
 Work as VO backup in case of VOs leaves or non-availability in any canvas of
the bank i.e IMD, Urban, Rural etc
 Any other task assigned by Line Manager or departmental Head.
 Portfolio Reviews and Service Quality
 Review/ Monitoring of financing portfolio quality / non performing finance cases of
assigned branches to meet service standards and establish feedback loop with
branches and Head Office to identify the reasons of default including portfolio
frauds (if any) in a timely manner
 Monitor in close coordination with the Credit & Risk the rectification of pre
disbursement irregularities and report on post disbursement irregularities.
Measure and forecast default risk on credit exposures across various portfolios
 Assure credit policy & procedural changes are implemented in branches by
VOs /RM.s /BMs
 Report any noncompliance, Risk, fraud or any unusual activity at branches to
Credit & Risk Department
 To follow & implement Bank whistle blowing policy
 Conduct periodic sampled based field & branch’s visit for portfolio review &
quality assurance
 Reporting, Record/ Data Maintenance
 Ensure Adequacy and timelines of Daily / Weekly / Monthly Reports, data to
Head Office as per schedule guidelines
 Maintain and Secure from unauthorized access related record Data/ Information
as per defined procedures
 Reporting of monthly FPL, Rejection Reports, Attendance Report, Customer’s
/guarantor visits pictures etc.
 Inter departmental reporting with Risk, compliance, Audit with prior informing to
line manager /HoD
 Any business report, analysis, inquiry, task or PIBAS sanctioning assigned by
line Manager or HoD
 Staff Development, Discipline & Co-ordination in the Branches
 Ensure to build the Capacity of assigned staff for improving performance &
Impart training to cope up with raising Credit /Financing Quality Standards.
 To ensure & conduct online, off-site & on site staff trainings as per staff need or
as per instructions from credit department, HR etc
 Provide guidance to the assigned team for functional understanding and credit or
financing evaluation process.
 Ensure and Maintain day to day discipline in branches of respective Verification
Officers as per policies & Procedures.
 Coordinate & align activities with branch management to cope with seasonal
business fluctuations & credit cases flow.

Technical Competency and Skills

 Sound knowledge of Ubank products/ process and polices especially Islamic or


sharia mode of financing of Musharaka, Salam, Murahaba, Ijara etc
 Thorough knowledge of SBP Microfinance prudential regulations & Islamic
banking circulars & ability to identify noncompliance and put in place mechanism
to assure compliance
 Working knowledge of banking computer based software & systems of
Microfinance market niche & Microfinance & sharia based products
 Overall Market and competitor knowledge, products knowledge of other Banks
/DFI etc
 Strong Portfolio analysis & monitoring skills. Knowledge of credit /financing
analysis and prudent judgmental skills, Also Ability to judge portfolio frauds.
 Proficient at using system, MS Office, emails, PIBAS, Jaspher, DLA, online
portals etc
 Effective Interpersonal Skills, Communication, Team Building and Management
abilities.
 Ability to withstand and handle business pressure from credit side and ability to
convince them regarding credit decisions.

Education

 Minimum: B.Com/ BBA /BSc/BA


 3-5 years’ credit or financing related field level experience preferably in Islamic
Banking
 Strong communication, reporting, drafting & presentations skills
