21 November 2023 Texas Children’s Hiring Manager Texas Children’s Hospital Pavilion for Women 6651 Main Street, Houston, TX 77030 Dear Texas Children’s Team, I am excited to pursue your open Mother/Baby position because of your hospital’s passion to provide life-changing care to the new mothers and babies of Houston! I am specifically interested in strengthening my postpartum nursing skills, and I would be honored to begin my nursing career at Texas Children’s. As my career progresses, I would also be interested in gaining experience in your award-winning NICU. In December of 2023, I will be graduating from the University of Arizona in Tucson with my BSN degree and a 3.5 GPA. I have worked hard to apply myself in this program so that I can become the best nurse possible for my future patients. In October of this year, I completed 180 precepting hours on the Mom/Baby unit at Tucson Medical Center, and I fell in love with postpartum care. I learned to balance the demands of caring for mother and baby at once while continuing to provide education and encouragement to families as they entered this new stage in their lives together. Throughout nursing school, my professional and volunteer experience has taught me to efficiently manage my time while still finding success in each of these spaces. Being Lead Host at Culinary Dropout has strengthened my leadership abilities. Leading young people gave me the opportunity to promote healthy relationships between people from varying walks of life with kindness, patience, and empathy. As a tutor, I have facilitated trusting and encouraging relationships with students, and their grades and confidence have all improved over the years. I believe all of these experiences will contribute to my nursing practice and make me a beneficial addition to your team. I am passionate about the well-being of each mother and child in Houston, and by prioritizing an innovative and compassionate environment for patients and staff alike, I believe I would fit in well at Texas Children’s. I look forward to bringing a new and collaborative attitude to your Mother/Baby unit soon! I can be reached at (480)-364-0612 or by email at annagladbach@yahoo.com to provide any additional information. Thank you for your time and consideration. Best Regards, Anna Gladbach
