1. If the perimetre and radius of a sector are 36 cm & 9 cm respectively, then the
length of arc of a sector
A. 18 cm
B. 21 cm
C. 22 cm
D. 23 cm
E. 24 cm
Answer : A. 18 cm
Explanation :
The radius of a sector = 9 cm

The perimetre of a sector = 36 cm

l (length) + 2r ( radius) = 36

l + 2(9) = 36

l = 36 - 18

l = 18 cm

∴ The length of arc = 18 cm

2. If the simple interest on a certain sum of money at 4% for 5 years is Rs. 320,

B. Rs. 1810
C. Rs. 1850
D. Rs. 1600
E. Rs. 1820
Answer : D. Rs. 1600
Explanation :
S.I = Rs. 320

N = 5 years

R = 4%

S.I = PNR / 100

320 = ( P * 5 * 4 ) / 100

320 = ( P * 4 ) / 20
320 = ( P / 5 )

320 * 5 = P

P = Rs. 1600
