Leadership Behavior

The behavior model of a leader consists of consideration and initiating structure, which the
leader trusts, respects, and cares about the employees of the organization. The leader would
engage in to guarantee that the work gets done well, the employees fulfill their
responsibilities on the job acceptably, and the effectiveness and efficiency of the company is
assured. Behavior leadership theory kingpins the way leaders behave, that would lead the
others to follow or copy the actions of the leaders. Some might know behavioral theory as
style theory that suggests that leaders are never born as an advanced successful person, but
they can develop leadership skills and knowledge based upon the learnable behaviors.

As for the famous leader we have selected to study on the point of leadership behavior, Tan
Sri Syed Mokhtar Al Bukhary, the leader of one of the biggest organizations in Malaysia, The
Albukhary Group of Companies. Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Al Bukhary seems to lead his
employees by being a leader that behaves decisively in the organization. It is proven that he
conducts meetings with his top managers to ensure that the quality of performance is
maintained well, and he would guide them to fix any mistakes internally or externally as
total. Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar seems able to decide in a short time with the information
gathered during the period. Therefore, Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar is a leader that is biased towards
action no matter the uncertainty they are facing.

Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar is a very hardworking leader for the growth of the organization. He
keeps building the business empire and involving himself in global business ventures as well.
According to Low and McMillan research, hardworking is the key element to develop a
theory of entrepreneurship success as a leader. He had been working hard with a big dream in
mind, as he was working to earn a small amount of money. Therefore, he worked hard since
he was young to achieve it and now that he has become a leader of his own business
organization, he works according to his desire to grow his business bigger globally.
