While some people hold the conviction that adolescents should pay equal attention to all areas

of expertise/ disciplines, those with an opposing viewpoint maintain that only several subjects
fascinating students should be concentrated on. The essay aims to delve into both viewpoints
before a personal perspective is presented at the end.
On the one hand, paying attention to their favorite subjects can have a great influence on
students to some extent. The first reason is that it can develop a passion for learning. More
specifically, they are motivated to explore in-depth knowledge about the subject instead of
being unsatisfied if they are forced to learn something they are not keen on. For example, a
student who has difficulties in maths might become frustrated when attempting assigned
homework, and therefore approach other disciplines with a negative mindset, thereby
reducing their potential and learning outcomes. Therefore, enabling students to study their
favorite disciples can act as a driving force for them to reach their full potential and achieve
better academic results. Furthermore, this learning approach possibly helps adolescents
identify their career and facilitates career orientation This is because they are more likely to
realize their aptitude for certain specializations, encouraging them to land a job related to their
favorite subject in the future.

Devoting equal focus to all subjects can offer certain merits The main justification is that this
approach provides a well-rounded education. By approaching a wide range of subjects,
teenagers can foster a broad knowledge base and a range of skills, facilitating comprehensive
development. To illustrate, logical thinking gained during maths lessons and critical thinking
fostered by literature is essential to fostering problem-solving skills, allowing them to better
solve real-life difficulties they encounter. Another reason is that studying different subjects
can assist students in identifying their strengths and weaknesses. Thus, they can enhance
critical thinking skills, promote their advantages, and improve on their disadvantages to
become better versions of themselves.
In conclusion, both viewpoints offer unique merits, however, I contend that it is more crucial
to emphasize all subjects for comprehensive education and self-improvement. Consequently,
teenagers should plan to allocate their time to different disciplines equally to become
knowledgeable, well-rounded individuals.
