Placement Policy: August 2023 onwards


Students who register with the Career Development Cell (CDC), IIT Jodhpur to participate in the
placement and internship shall read these guidelines carefully before registering for the process:

General Guidelines

1. The CDC, IIT Jodhpur doesn’t guarantee any job, however it will assist all registered
students as a facilitator across the campus process.
2. Registration for Placement and Internship is not mandatory. Students not interested in
campus Placement may opt out of the registration process.
3. Only the students graduating in the year 2024 are eligible to participate in the placement
process.

Eligibility Criteria

All students shall note the following prior to registering for placements and internship

1. Placement registration is for one academic year(2023-24) only. Students are required to
register to indicate their interest in the campus placement process. Only the registered
students will be allowed to appear for campus placements/internships.

2. All students are eligible for registration in Phase-1.However, their eligibility will be subject to
the company's discretion regarding the consideration of individuals with backlogs.All
students are encouraged to attain a minimum of 6.0 CGPA.

Code of Conduct

1. A student is expected to read the Job/Internship Advertisement thoroughly before applying


to a particular company.
2. Information provided by the student to the CDC should be accurate. Sharing false
information may lead to disciplinary action against the student.
3. Once a student registers for a particular company, he/she is bound to attend the entire
selection process of that company. If a student fails to show up at any stage of the
selection process, then he/she shall be debarred from all subsequent processes.
4. It is mandatory for a student to be dressed in business formals during the selection
process.
5. If a student gets multiple job offers on a single day, then they should select one out of
those and inform the CDC about their decision within two hours of receiving the offer.
6. Once a student is extended an offer from the company, they will be out of the campus
recruitment process irrespective of the student’s response (accept/reject) to the offer. It is
hence advised to accept the extended offer.
7. During the Pre-Placement Talk by companies, a student is advised to gather necessary
information related to the company or the selection process well before the selection
process begins.
8. (a) No student is allowed to directly contact any official of any company conducting their
process through CDC. Only the student coordinators of the CDC can do so through a proper
channel under the guidance of Training and Placement Officer. In case any company official
writes to CDC about any particular student’s direct involvement without consent of CDC,
he/she shall be debarred.
9. A student appearing for the virtual selection process is required to log in to the
test/interview platform at least 15 minutes before the scheduled starting time.
10. Students are expected to register twice on the Career Development Cell’s portal, once for
the (August-December) term and again for the (January-May) term.
11. Use of cell phones or any devices during the pre-placement talk of any company is strictly
prohibited. Such behavior might attract consequences such as being debarred from the
placement process of the concerned company.
12. If a student is found using any unfair means during the interview/tests, he/she shall be
debarred from the respective company’s selection process and be liable to face disciplinary
action.
13. CDC strictly follows one student one job policy however in case CTC Offered is less than
Rs. 8 LPA he/she can appear for another company offering CTC of 1.5 times or higher the
CTC offered by previous company.
14. Channel of communication for students in CDC: Branch Representative→Core
Coordinator→Junior Superintendent→TPO→Chairman CDC. However in case of exigency,
any candidate can directly approach Training and Placement Officer or Chairman, CDC.

Please note:

1. CDC reserves the right to take disciplinary action against the student who violates the
aforementioned norms of the Placement/ Internship Process.
2. In case of any dispute, Chairman CDC reserves the right to take any appropriate decision.

*CDC reserves the right to change the policy as and when required with the approval of the Chairman, CDC.
