The above matter refers,

On various dates between 13th and 14th April, a truck of white maize totalling to Kshs
1.290.000.00 was lost from Unga Farm Care (EA) Limited, Nairobi feeds. The said plant is
manned by Tandu Securities. From the joint investigations between DCI and UHL security, the
following emerged detailing your negligent acts or omissions

1. Representatives from Tandu Alarms, including the site inspector and project manager, were
aware of this change but did not find it necessary to inform the UHL security office.
2. On the day of the incident, the Tandu security guard manning the main entry gate failed to
record the truck as required by the procedure. The guard, Julius Mado, also did not show up
to assist the UHL security and DCI officers with the investigations.
3. Despite requests from UHL security, Tandu Alarms made no efforts to produce the guard.
During a meeting between UHL security and Tandu representatives on May 24, 2023, it was
confirmed that Tandu Alarms management was unaware that one of their staff members was
working at NCPB.
4. The operations manager stated that the deployment report by the site inspector and project
manager indicated an escort guard to and from NCPB, not for a post called NCPB.
5. This failure by Tandu Alarms to fulfil their contractual obligations of providing security for
UHL assets, including raw materials, is considered a breach of contract, and they should be
held liable.
In light of the foregoing, this is to demand from you, which we hereby do the sum of Kes …………..
being the loss incurred by the company as a result of your direct negligence and omission. Further
note that the same should be received on before the lapse of 7 days of receipt of this demand letter.
Further take notice that should we fail to receive the said amount within the stipulated period, the
company shall exercise general rights of lien over your accounts till the final and full settlement of the
said amount.
