STEPS

Step-1: Launch SPSS: Double-click the SPSS icon on your desktop or find it in your computer's programs
menu and open the application.

Step-2:Choose the Type of File: When SPSS opens, you'll be prompted to choose the type of file you
want to create. Select "New Data File" if you're starting a new project.

Step-3:Data Editor or Variable View: SPSS will open a new data file in Data Editor mode by default.
Here, you can directly enter your data into the cells.

Steps for Data Entry in SPSS:

Step-Ⅰ:Variable Names: In the first row of the Data Editor, enter the names of your variables in each
column. These are the categories of data you'll be collecting (e.g., Age, Height, Weight).

Step-Ⅱ:Variable Type and Format: Click on the cell just below the variable name to define the type of
data you'll be entering. For example, if it's numerical data, choose "Numeric." You can also set the
format (e.g., decimal places for numbers) by right-clicking on the variable name and selecting "Variable
Properties."

Step-Ⅲ:Entering Data: Start entering your data row by row, below the respective variable names. Each
row represents a different case or participant, and each column represents a variable.

Step-Ⅳ:Checking the variables: Click on the Value Labels icon to review the data according to the
varaibles you have given

Step-Ⅴ:Saving Your Work: It's good practice to save your work periodically. Go to `File -> Save As` and
save your file with a relevant name and location on your computer.
