ASSIGNMENT (ANSWER)

Biodiversity is all the different kinds of life that we found in one area such as the variety of
animals, plants, fungi, and even microorganisms like bacteria that make up our natural world.
Each of these species and organisms work together in ecosystems, like an intricate web to
maintain balance and support life. Biodiversity is important to most aspects of our lives. We
value biodiversity for many reasons, some utilitarian, some intrinsic. This means we value
biodiversity both for what it provides to humans, and for the value it has in its own right.
Utilitarian values include the many basic needs humans obtain from biodiversity such as
food, fuel, shelter, and medicine. Over the last century, humans have come to dominate the
planet, causing rapid ecosystem change and massive loss of biodiversity across the planet.
Therefore, the conservation efforts of Malaysian government can made a significant
difference in the state of biodiversity today.

The efforts of Malaysian government for the preservation and conservation of biodiversity
was strategic planning and make right structure which can help restore and foster resilient
ecosystems. Then, Empower and attract all stakeholders to conserve biodiversity and improve
the capabilities, knowledge and skills of all stakeholders to conserve biodiversity.
Ensure fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising out of the utilisation of biological
resources. Prioritised preservation and conservation of natural heritage such as forest and
green areas as land used for environmental services. Lastly, Malaysian government also took
effort to protect the Malayan tiger where WWF-Malaysia is supporting the Malaysian
Government to establish long-term, sustainable solutions to protect Malaysia’s tigers and
secure a future for all the biodiversity in the Belum-Temengor Forest Complex.

There are many contribution that we as local community that can you make to support
this effort. First, support local farms by regularly buying from small local farmers helps to
support agriculture efforts to conserve biodiversity. Then, limit usage of utilities such as
water in our daily basis because biodiversity depends on the abundance of local fresh water.
After that, check the products that you buy and the companies you support to ensure that
your buying habits are not contributing to destruction of habitat elsewhere. Moreover, to
save Malayan tiger we also should support critical awareness and communications
initiatives conducted with the community and civil society. Lastly, plant local fruits,
vegetables and flowers at our garden to support local nurseries that specialize in native
species.

In conclusion, conservation of biodiversity is of utmost vital. We must all make efforts to

conserve biodiversity rather than contributing towards its declination. Thus, the richness of
biodiversity is essential for the survival of living beings on Earth.
