Class 10 Act
Scene:
Mayor: Thank you all for coming tonight to discuss this important issue. Climate change is a serious
threat to our community, and we need to work together to address it.
The mayor then introduces the scientist, who gives a presentation on the science of climate change.
Scientist: Climate change is the long-term alteration of temperature and typical weather patterns in
a place. Climate change could refer to a particular location or the planet as a whole. Climate change
may cause weather patterns to be less predictable. A region might experience lower or higher than
average temperatures. Climate change may cause more frequent and severe weather events, such
as storms, floods, and droughts.
After the presentation, the mayor opens the floor for questions. You raise your hand.
You: I'm concerned about the impact of climate change on our community. What can we do to
address it?
Mayor: That's a great question. There are many things we can do, both as individuals and as a
community. We can reduce our carbon footprint by driving less, using less energy at home, and
eating less meat. We can also support businesses that are working to reduce their environmental
impact. And we can contact our elected officials and urge them to take action on climate change.
The scientist then adds:
Scientist: It's important to remember that climate change is a global problem, and it will require a
global solution. But every little bit helps. Even small changes in our individual behavior can make a
big difference when we all work together.
Businessperson: I'm a business owner, and I'm concerned about the impact of climate change on my
business. But I'm also committed to being part of the solution. I'm working to reduce the energy
consumption of my business, and I'm looking for ways to switch to renewable energy sources.
Activist: I'm a climate activist, and I'm here to urge you all to get involved in the fight against climate
change. We need to come together as a community and demand that our elected officials take
action. We can't afford to wait any longer.
The mayor then concludes the meeting by thanking everyone for their participation.
Mayor: Thank you all for coming tonight. It's clear that climate change is an important issue to our
community. I'm committed to working with all of you to address this challenge.
End Scene
This is just a sample role play scenario. You can adapt it to fit your own specific community and
interests. The important thing is to get people talking about climate change and to start thinking
about ways to address it.
