It’s time to combine your artistic and design skills with your knowledge of functions, which you
have learned throughout this semester, to demonstrate your creative thinking!
Creative design:
Instructions:
(1) Choose at least one transformed function from each group (a minimum of three
functions would be a Level 1. * Refer to rubric for more detailed level breakdown).
(2) At least one function should include all transformations.
(3) State transformations for at least three functions, at least one from each group,
including the function of your choice in (2).
(4) You could work as a group to discuss and share knowledge, but each student must
submit their own design, logo, etc.
Evaluation:
Your creative design, logo, etc. will be graded based on the following aspects (see the rubric for
more details).
❖ The variety of functions and their transformations you have used
1
❖ The accuracy of your equations and restrictions
❖ The difficulty of your functions using multiple transformations
❖ The use of proper mathematical and function notations
❖ The organization of your work
Submission:
a) Take a screen shot or share the link to your design through the hub assignment page.
The design submission page from Desmos must clearly show all the functions you have
used.
b) On a separate sheet, you must include an introduction paragraph explaining your design.
The maximum word count is 300.
c) On the same sheet (in (b)), you should include equations of functions and
transformations used, domain and range with restrictions for each function, a list of
transformations (at least three functions; read the instructions above), etc.
d) Work should be properly organized.
e) Submission deadline: on or before 3:00 PM, Friday, June 16th, 2023.
