6SE7090-0XX84-0AB0

though now obsolete, the Siemens 6SE7090-0XX84-0AB0 CUVC card can still be found installed
in countless Masterdrive converters throughout the world. Usually this card is specified as on the
Z options on the Masterdrive and therefore are provided as standard when the drive is
delivered. It is possible to retrofit the CUVC card to the drive. The drive must be opened to
install the 6SE7090-0XX84-0AB0 and therefore should only be carried out by a qualified
technician whilst paying attention to ESD measures. If you are not confident fitting your card
then we can help. We have several engineers who have recieved factory training on these cards
and can fit these cards for you. Please contact one of the Northern Industrial team for more
information.

In the basic version, the CUVC card has the following control connections

 Serial interface (RS232/RS485) for PC or OP1S

 A serial interface (USS bus, RS485)
 A control terminal strip for connecting up a HTL unipolar pulse encoder and a motor
temperature sensor (PTC/KTY84)
 Two control terminal strips with digital and analogue inputs and outputs

On the control terminal strip marked X101 you will discover the following connections

 4 optional parameterizable digital inputs and outputs

 3 digital inputs
 24V aux voltage supply (max 150 mA) for the inputs and outputs
 1 serial interface SCom2 (USS/RS485)

On the control terminal strip marked X102 you will discover the following connections

 10V aux voltage (max. 5mA) for the supply of an external potentiometer
 2 analogue inputs (these can be used as current or voltage inputs)
 2 analogue outputs (again these can be used as either current or voltage outputs)

X103 is used as the Pulse Encoder connection. The connection for a pulse encoder (HTL
unipolar) is provided on the control terminal strip.

X300 is a 9 pole Sub D socket serial interface port that can be used to connect an OP1S or a PC.

Expanding the functions

The functionality of the Siemens 6SE7090-0XX84-0AB0 can be expanded with the EB2 sub
module. EB2 stands for expansion board 2 and simply increases the number of digital and
analogue inputs an outputs on the CUVC. A maximum of two EB2 boards can be installed on the
CUVC card in any available slot but bear in mind that a sensor board always requires slot C.
Northern Industrial have new and refurbished EB2 boards available from stock. It is therefore
worth check if your current CUVC has the EB2 sub modules fitted before placing your order on
