I. WHERE DID YOU GO ON HOLIDAY?

1. Cách hỏi xem ai đó đã đi đâu vào kì nghỉ

+ Câu hỏi: Where + did + S +go+ on holiday?

+ Câu trả lời: S + went to + place.

Ví dụ:

- Where did you go on holiday?

I went to Ha Long Bay.

- Where did Hoa go on holiday?

She went to the beach.

2. Cách hỏi ai đó đã ở đâu trong quá khứ

+ Câu hỏi: Where+ was/ were + S ...?

+ Câu trả lời: S + was/ were + in/ on/ at + place.

Ví dụ:

- Where were you last summer?

I was at home.

- Where was Tim last weekend?

He was at the seaside.

Lưu ý:

- I/ She/ He/ It/ Danh từ số ít + was

- We/ You/ They/ Danh từ số nhiều + were

3. Cách hỏi xem ai đó đã đi bằng phương tiện gì

 + Câu hỏi: How did + S + V (bare—inf) + ...?

+ Câu trả lời: S + V-ed/ V-cột 2 + ... + by + phương tiện.

Ví dụ:

- How did you get there?

I got there by coach.

- How did she go to Da Nang?

She went there by motorbike.

Lưu ý

- by + phuong tiên (by bus, by train, by car, by underground, by bike, by

motorbike,...)

– on foot: đi bộ

Vidu: I went to the zoo on foot

4. Thì quá khứ đơn

+ Câu khẳng định: S + V-ed/ V−cột 2 + ...

Ví dụ:

- I went to school yesterday.

 “go” là động từ bất quy tắc nên ta xem ở cột 2 bảng động từ bất quy
tắc (học thuộc lòng những động từ bất quy tắc này)

- She watched TV last night.

→ “watch” là động từ có quy tắc nên ta thêm “ed”

+ Câu phủ định: S + did not/ didn’t + V (bare—inf) + ..

Ví dụ:

– I didn't go to the zoo yesterday.

- They didn't go back to their hometown last week.

+ Câu hỏi/ Câu nghi vấn: Did + S + V (bare—inf) + ...?

 -Yes, S + did./ No, S + didn't.

Ví dụ:

– Did you get there by underground?

Yes, I did.

- Did Hoa visit her parents yesterday morning?

No, she didn't.

* Một số từ/ cụm từ thời gian ở quá khứ

– yesterday: hôm qua

– last + night/ week/ month/ year/ ...: tối qua/ tuần trước/ tháng trước/
năm ngoái/...

– ago: cách đây (two days ago: cách đây 2 ngày; one week ago: cách đây
một tuần)

- in + năm trong quá khứ: vào năm ... (in 1990: vào năm 1990)

5. Quy tắc thêm đuôi “ed”

– Thường thì ta thêm đuôi “ed” vào sau các động từ

Ví dụ: play → played (chơi); cook → cooked (nấu)

- Một số động từ tận cùng bằng “e” thì ta chỉ cần thêm “d”

Ví dụ: like- liked (thích)

- Nếu động từ một âm tiết tận cùng bằng “1 nguyên âm + 1 phụ âm” thì
thì ta gấp đôi phụ âm cuối rồi thêm “ed’

Ví dụ: stop → stopped (dừng lại)

– Nếu động từ tận cùng bằng “1 phụ âm + y” thì ta biến “y” thành “i” rồi
thêm “ed”

Ví dụ: study- studied (học)

II. DID YOU GO TO THE PARTY

1. Cách hỏi xem ai đó đã làm việc gì đó hay không

+ Câu hỏi: Did + S + V (bare—inf) ...? on de

+ Câu trả lời: Yes, S + did.

No, S + didn't.

Ví dụ:

- Did you watch TV last night?

Yes, I did.

– Did he play football last weekend?

No, he didn't.

2. Cách hỏi xem ai đó đã làm gì ở bữa tiệc

+ Câu hỏi: What + did + S + do + at the party?

+ Câu trả lời: S + V-ed/ V−cột 2 ...

Ví dụ:

- What did she do at the party?

She sang some songs.

- What did your friends do at the party? They ate cakes and fruits.
