1. Adjustment and maintenance
1.1 Maximum steering angle adjustment
The anterior axle is normally
positioned by adjusting the screw and
stopper. No special adjustment is
required. Only when the screw is
loosened and adjusted again, the
cylinder shall have 20mm of stroke in
the positioning state.

At this point, the inner turning angle of the tire should be

1.2. Toe-in and its adjustment
The toe-in of the front wheels is such that the front end distance of the two front wheels of the vehicle is
smaller than the rear end distance. The difference in its distance is called the toe-in value. The left and
right front wheels form an open "八" shape when viewed from above the vehicle. Toe-in of the front
wheels refers to the distance difference between the front end face and the rear end face of the front
wheel in the transverse direction of the automobile, and may also refer to the included angle between
the advancing direction of the vehicle body and the plane of the front wheel, in which case it is also
referred to as the toe angle.

For the schematic diagram of toe-in, the normal


value is 2 ~ 5mm (A-B), if it is out of this range, it
can be adjusted by steering rod.

7. Adjusting cone clearance

Hoist the differential assembly to the reducer


housing, successively install an adjustment nut
and a tile cover, apply a thread locking agent on
the bolt, and initially tighten the bolt.
Tighten the adjustment nut on the back of the
1 tooth to ensure there is no clearance between the
main and passive bevel gears, and then loosen it
by 90 °. Tighten the 2 bolts on the side tile cover
of tooth surface;
Note: Tightening torque: (630 ± 50) Nm.

Fix the dial indicator on the back side of the tooth,


vertically press the gauge head on the back side
of the passive bevel gear tooth, and use a tool to
2 tighten the adjusting nut on the back side of the
tooth, so that the dial indicator pressure on the
back side of the tooth is: 0.40 ± 0.05mm, the
passive bevel gear can rotate flexibly.

8. Hub assembly assembling

3. Large plane oil leaking on the axle housing

In the early stage of the market, there were many oil


leaking faults in the direction of 6 o'clock on the large
plane of the axle housing. After analysis, it is mainly

that the excessive stress in this part causes the
deformation of the axle housing and oil leakage during
the heavy-duty operation of the vehicle.

Tightening torque: 120±20 Nm

Tightening torque: 370±20 Nm

To solve this problem, a fixing plate can be installed on

VII. Use and Maintenance of Axles
1. Precautions for axle use
① Safety guidance

● Do not use gasoline or solvent containing gasoline to clean parts, because gasoline is very volatile, easy to
catch fire or explosion. Please use kerosene, diesel or professional cleaning agent.
● During the inspection, maintenance or repair of the axle, the engine shall be shut down, parked on a horizontal
road, and wedges shall be placed on both sides of the left and right wheels of the axle to avoid safety accidents.
● For the lifted axle assembly, use a safety support to support the frame. Do not work under a frame supported
only by a jack. The jack may slip or overturn, resulting in personal injury and parts damage.
● The temperature of the axle is high after operation. Do not touch the axle with bare hands. Be careful of
scalding.
● Do not use badly worn tools. If the worn wrench will slip, there is a risk of personal injury.
● Do not stand under the suspended solids of the crane and ensure that all lifting devices are in good condition.
● Do not try to tighten or loosen the air circuit under ventilation.
● Wear labor protection shoes when working to prevent heavy objects from falling and hurting your toes.
● Non-professional personnel shall not attempt to repair the brake chamber. Springs can cause personal injury.
● When knocking parts, the installing hammers shall be made of soft materials such as copper and rubber. Do
not use a iron hammer which may cause parts to collapse and endanger personal safety.

● It is not allowed to continue to use in case of axle failure;
● It is not allowed to disassemble and deal with the axle failure without permissions;
● It is not allowed to change the axle structure;
● It is not allowed to mix lubricating oils or greases of different quality.
● Thoroughly clean the axle before maintenance. During maintenance, ensure that no dirt, soils or other foreign
objects enter the interior of the axle or bearing.
● Before using a new or repaired axle, make sure it has been filled with lubricating oil.
● It is recommended to use the genuine parts of HANDE axle to ensure the applicability, reliability and vehicle
safety of the parts.
● Check and maintain the axle according to the specified cycle. Refer to the relevant documents of the
automobile manufacturer for details.

③ Precautions for axle use


l It is forbidden for the user to modify the axle structure without permission, such as changing the axle gear
ratio and releasing the front axle brake.
l During the application of the vehicle, please maintain and service the axle regularly.
l Precautions for replacement of wheel bolts and nuts:
a. Do not damage the thread of the wheel bolt, and keep the bolt thread clean;
b. The matching surface of brake drum and rim and the pressing surface of wheel nut must not be stained with
paint, grease and other dirt;
c. Before installing the wheel, the outer circle matching the rim positioning hole and the wheel hub shall be
wiped clean and coated with a little grease;
d. When tightening the wheel nut, it must be carried out diagonally and evenly;
e. After each tire reassembly, the tire nut must be re tightened within 50km.

5. Apply grease to the axle grease fitting location
Drive axle grease fitting location:
Grease the camshaft support, brake bottom plate grease nozzle and
adjusting arm every 15 days after vehicle operation.

①.During the maintenance cycle, the mileage and time shall be subject to the first to come;
②.Assemble the axle with hub bearing unit structure, and the hub bearing unit is maintenance free for life;
③.According to this maintenance interval, the grease must meet the technical conditions for long life grease of ordinary bearings, and HD-R01
HANDE special grease is recommended;
④.Gear oil meets or exceeds the standard of "Q/HDB2069-2015 technical specifications for axle gear oil";
⑤.If the lubricating oil/grease used by the OEMs cannot meet the use standard of HANDE axle lubricating oil, it shall be maintained according
to the maintenance cycle required by the OEMs;
⑥.During the use of axle products, if the use environment is poor and the vehicle is overloaded, the maintenance cycle shall be halved on the
basis of the above standards.

The front axle of DW90A series off-road wide-body dumper is a


straight beam steering axle, and the intermediate and rear axle is a
two-stage reducer drive axle. As the main part of the complete
Thru shaft bearing locknut sleeve vehicle, the function of the axle is to bear various forces
transmitted by the road and frame, and use the drive axle to
increase torque to drive the complete vehicle.
The drive axle adopts a cast axle housing, an inter pulley and inter-
axle differential, and is equipped with an inter-axle differential lock.
