TITLE OF PROJECT :WASTE TO ECO-FRIENDLY NATURAL PRODUCTS.

ABSTRACT
“Cleanliness is next to Godliness” But it is not fit for our society. We see that the green
coconut shells accumulating or throwing into canals create number of problems, their
dumpage on road sides causing road accidents. Throwing into canals leads to clogging of
water. There is a chance to growing of mosquito population. If we burn them it releases
harmful green house gases like CO₂, CO and methane, which causes global warming.
Frequently I visit to my uncle's coconut stall, people there, after drinking coconut water are
throwing empty green coconut shells on roads and some in open drainage canals. Every
month my uncle pays money to municipality for cleaning of garbage.
I thought solution for empty green coconut shells and I discussed with my friend and
subject teacher too. On the occassion of 31st NCSC-2023 programme, I and my friend choose a
topic about effects of green empty coconut shells on eco-system.
For the project purpose of NCSC we selected our Nandyal town as survey area. We
gathered information about coconut sales, Expenditure on transportation, availability of land
fordumpage empty green coconut shells.
Aims and objectives :
 To reduce the dumpage place for empty green coconut Shells.
 To create awareness among people on effects of dumping of coconut shells through
Rally.
 To reduce the expenditure on transportation of empty green coconut shells.
 To encourage the unemployes for installation of Coconut coir industry.
 To create awareness about occupied land for dumping and its valuation.
Methodology :
We collected data from various shop vendors and interpreted the data. Finally we
identified the solution for dumpage of empty green coconut shells with less effort. While
creating awareness about disposal of empty green coconut Shells and their eco-friendly
products. My uncle was inspired by our project idea and he brought awareness to his brother.
His name was Mr.Nagesh Reddy,who established a Coconut Coir industry recently. He
provides a tractor for gathering of empty green coconut shells in Nandyal town for his
industry with no money.
Conclusion:

Through our project, we protect our environment Nandyal people’s health and also
provide employment. Now we feel proud to save our mother earth from wastage.

Introduction:

The Conversion of empty drinking coconut Shells into eco-

friendly Natural products representing an exciting and

Sustainableendeavour with the potential to make a positive

impact on both the environment and Consumers. When we

enjoy a refreshing drink from a coconut, the empty shells are

typically discarded as waste. However these shells can Serve as

a valuable resources for the creation of a wide range of eco-

friendly products that align with the principles of

environmental responsibility and Sustainability. These

products not only reduce the environmental burden associated

with waste disposal but also offer unique, sustainable

alternatives.

We will explore how the repurposing of waste coconut

shells into eco-friendly Natural Products is not only

environmentally responsible but also contributes to a more

 sustainable future. By this solution, provide employment in

local area and Job opportunity to them.

Aim and objectives of the study :

 To Reduce the dumpage place for empty green coconut shells.
 To create awareness among people on effects of dumping of coconut
shells through Rally.

shells.
 Toavoid road accidents which was happening by empty coconut shells.

HYPOTHESIS :
 “By repurposing waste coconut shells into various eco-friendly natural
products, we can reduce environmental waste, promote sustainability, and
provide alternative solutions that are both economically viable and
environmentally friendly.”
 By processing coconut shells into coconut coir, a natural fibre, we can create
biodegradable and durable alternative to synthetic materials for products
such as ropes, mats and sofa seats.
 Utilizing coconut shells to produce charcoal briquettes as a renewable and
clean burning energy source can control environment pollution.
 Coconut shell based products can provide economic opportunities and
employment in our local regions.
 This eco-friendly coconut shell products could have a positive impact on
consumer behaviour by promoting a shift towards sustainable and
environmentally responsible choices in everyday products.

NEED STATEMENT :
In our Nandyal, nearly 400 coconut stalls are present. They are everyday around
10,000 to 15,000 coconuts are selling.After drinking the coconuts, people are
throw in dustbin, beside roads, in canal. It causes diseases to all human beings by
mosquitoes are flourish on such garbage. Its leads to air pollution.

By install a coconut coir industry in our area not only promote sustainable
living but also provide local employment.So we select this project to save
environment and provide employment in local area.

→ Identify the problem about disposal of empty green coconut shells and their
impact on environment.

→ Visiting the green coconut stalls to gather the information of disposal of empty
green coconut shells for survey purpose in Nandyal.

→ Discussion with the friends and science teachers about the problem. Collect the
information about dumping of collected coconut shells.

→ Finding the solution to the problem.By converting the empty green coconut shells
into sustainable useful natural products.

→ Creating the awareness in the people and coconut sellers about the disposal of
green coconut shells.

→ Motivating and encouragement of peoples to establish the industry which is

convert the empty green coconut shells into useful natural products and provide
employment.

→ I observed that many people after drinking the coconut water they are throwing
beside of roads and in canals. By this indiscriminate disposal of coconut shells
causing road accidents and clogging canals.It leads to overflow of drainage
water.
→ By observe this problems, I collect data from various coconut vendors and we
analysed the data.
→ I got a solution for disposal of coconut shells.
→ We explained our solution to various coconut vendors and we create awareness
among the people through rally.
→ By install coconut coir industry, to control the dumping of green coconut shells in
canals, beside of roads.
→ Coconut coir industry not only protect environment but also economically and
socially beneficial.
