GAME PLAN
Fundamentals of Throwing
A. Title of the Game
Target Challenge
The goal of the game is to throw a variety of implement as accurately as possible to hit the
designated target.
B. Materials
 Tennis Balls
 Cones
 5 lbs Bag of Sand
 Timer/Stopwatch
 Paper Planes
 Table
 Score sheet
C. Venue/ Place/ Setting
Indoor court.
D. Game Procedure
Set up:
1. Targets - Set up multiple targets at varying distances. The targets are placed at
different distances to create different levels of difficulty.
2. Throwing Linemark - This is where the participants will make their throws.
3. Timer – There will be a timer each stage.
Rules:
 Each participant takes turns to make a throw at one of the targets.
 They should be throwing the missile with in the throwing area only.
 The whole game should
 They only have 30 seconds for each stage.
 The participant should run within 15seconds to proceed to the next stage.
 There will be a deduction of time if they will step in to the throwing line.
 The thrower can use their dominant hand . Any style of throwing is accepted . When
the cones is only touched by the tennis ball and did not fall to the ground , that is not
counted.
Violation/s
If the participants take a step on the throwing area, there will be a 5-second deduction of
time.
If the participant throws the implement with two hands they will be considered as
disqualified.
If the participants leave the circle before the landing of the implement they will not be able to
go to the next stage.
Tie Breaker
If the players have a same score in Stage 1, 2 , and 3. The scribe will base on the participant’s
statistics of their time on how many attempts to throw the object in every stage. The Player
that has the fastest throw in every attempt will be the winner.
Committee and Officials

Line Man
They are the ones that are in-charge for checking the participant’s feet inside the throwing
area.

Scribe
They are the ones that are in-charge for listing the number of throws, scores , and violations.

Timer committee
They are the ones that are in-charge in setting the timer.

Stage 1

 The player will throw a tennis ball towards the cones.


 For 30 seconds with a distance of 2 meters.
 Each cone is equal to 3pts.

Stage 2

 The player will throw a 5 lbs bag of sand towards the table’s hole.
 For 30 seconds with a distance of 1 meter.
 Each bag of sand that will fall into the hole is equal to 5pts.
Stage 3

 The player will throw a paper plane towards the table’s hole.
 For 30 seconds with a distance of 2 meters.
 Each paper planes that will fall into the hole is equal to 5pts.

E. Safety and Organization


 There should be an orientation before the game starts.
 Proper footwear/sports shoes/rubber shoes.
 The players should be aware of the rules of the game.
 Awareness of surroundings and other players.
F. Facilities
Court – 11 meters length by 3 meters width
Throwing Area - They should throw the implement within the throwing circle. The circle is
usually marked with a white line.They are not allowed to step into the circle. The throwing
area is 1.50 meters in diameter.
