Deconstruct Bubble Shooter Classic

1. Question 01 :
Describe the core loop of the Gameplay along with the diagram.
1.1. Explain the meta in the game, if any!
1.2. Propose a social mechanic and detail why it is effective and what would
motivate the player to engage with it?
Answer :
1.1
Core Loop

● Select Level
The player will start the match by first selecting the level which the player wants to
play from the map.
● Shoot
The level will start with a cluster of colorful bubbles . The objective of the players is
to clear all the bubbles by shooting additional bubbles towards them.The player
must aim to shoot a bubble into a cluster where the bubble matches with two or
more bubbles of the same color. When three or more bubbles of the same color are
adjacent to each other they usually burst and disappear.
● Clear Level
The players must clear the cluster of bubbles with the least number of bubbles as
the number of bubbles allocated to the player for shooting is limited as running out
of the bubbles will be considered as Game Over. This often includes strategic
planning and precise aiming to be able clear a large clutter of bubbles. Running out
of the bubbles will be considered as Game Over.
● Earn Stars
The player will be able to earn stars based on their performance on the level. The
performance is judge rating derived from a particular stand-point to calculate the
players performance. Usually the rating is conducted in 3 stars format where 1 star
is the lowest and 3 stars are the highest. Using the bubbles efficiently will lead to
better ratings as well as trying to clear more than 3 bubbles at an instance as the
greater the chain reaction the greater the points you get.
Core-Meta Loop

● Level Progression
Level progression can be defined as progressing through a series of levels with an
increasing difficulty curve and varied complex levels. As the player progresses
through the levels the player will also be able to unlock new sections,special levels,
special game modes.
○ Clear levels
Clear level is referred to as completing a level. While completing a level is
rather vague, in this game it is shown as for completing a level the player has
to at least collect one star while completing the level.
○ Unlock New Levels
Unlock new Levels is tied to progression of the levels as the player is able
unlock new levels as the continue to clear a level or a set of levels
● Piggy Bank
Piggy bank is a core-meta mechanic which is introduced in this game as a type of
collect and redeem setup where the player is to collect the collectable tokens and
fill the bank. After the bank is full then the player is able to break the bank and get
the reward which in this case is game currency i.e. Coins.
○ Earn Collectables
In this step, the player has to earn the tokens which can be collected through
completing a level though the number of token earned will be depended upon
the Star count of the mentioned level.
○ Fill Piggy Bank
In this step, the player will continue to complete the levels while collecting
the token that will fill the Piggy Bank to the brim.
● Collect Rewards
Collect Rewards can be referred to as collecting of those that are available for the
player. This step also includes the rewards in the piggy bank where the player has to
break the piggy bank and collect the reward. It should be also mentioned that the
player is also able to avail some rewards just by playing the game daily. Thus, Collect
Rewards includes all types of rewards that are available for the player.

Social Mechanics : Bubble Burst Challenges

● Description :
This mechanics will be like a weekly social challenger event where the players will
be able to challenge their friends in a special type of level inspired by tetris where
the cluster of bubble will continue to increase row by after every 35 seconds and the
level setup will be endless and while ranking will be maintained by score as clearing
bubbles will give a certain amount of points and while causing chain reactions will
be calculated as variable multiplier.
The time limit for this event will be 48 hours which should be able coincide on
Weekends.

● How it Will Work :


○ Challenge System
The players will be able to challenge their friends on the high score and
ranking. This could also motivate the players to have friendly competitions.
○ Leaderboard
There will be a specific leaderboard which will be reset after each week and
will be keeping track of the player score and rank during the tenure. The
motivation for this is to encouragement for the players to outperform their
friends and others
■ Rewards for Rankers
There will be certain rewards for the top 10 ranked players after the
event.
○ Social Sharing
By giving an option to share their rank and highscore or the challenge results
will be a way to foster a sense of community and also appeal to others to
show the unique events and features of the game. Also, it will be a better
prospect to announce the event ranker in the community page for the social
recognition for the player.
● Effectiveness :
The effectiveness of this social mechanic can be considered from the viewpoint
that it taps into the competitive nature of the players while encouraging friendly
competition and rivalry within friends. It is expected to create a sense of
community and provide motivation for the players to play the game more. Also as we
are also incentivising the event with in-game rewards and social recognition to
further enhance the player engagement.
