ABSTRACT

This motor has normal starting torque and adjustable speed so that speed control can be achieved
easily. It’s starting torque increases in the value of rotor resistance. However, maximum torque remains
constant.It consists of two circuits.

1. Magnetizing circuit consisting of R 0 and X 0

2. Working circuit consisting of R 01 , X 01 and Z 01 . The above of four quantities R 0 , X 0 , R 01 , X
01 and Z 01 are known as parameter or constant of three phase induction motor R 0 and X 0 can be
found out with the help of open circuit test R 01 and X 01 by short circuit test. Once we know these
quantities, we can draw the equivalent circuit.3-φ induction motor.Stator winding

CHAPTER 1

Introduction

1.1 Description

O ne of the most common electric motors used in most applications is known as an

induction motor. This motor is also called an asynchronous motor because it operates at a
speed less than its synchronous speed. Here we have to define what is synchronous speed.
Synchronous speed is the speed of rotation of the magnetic field in a rotating machine and
depends on the frequency and number of poles of the machine.Because the rotating
magnetic field that occurs in the stator will generate flux in the rotor.Basically there are two
types of induction motor that depend on the input power single phase and three phase
induction motor.

The object of this experiment is to observe the performance of three-phase induction

motor.

CHAPTER 2

BACKGROUND

2.1 Description

This motor has normal starting torque and adjustable speed so that speed control can be achieved easily.
It’s starting torque increases in the value of rotor resistance.
However, maximum torque remains constant. It consists of two circuits.
Once we know these
quantities, we can draw the equivalent circuit.3-φ induction motor: I 2 I 1 Stator winding

2.2 Motivation

Asynchronous motors is important because most industrial applications use asynchronous motors
from the market due to their high robustness, reliability, low cost and maintenance and high efficiency.
They are also critical components in many commercially available equipments and industrial processes.
The reason for presenting the paper is to provide to industrial motors, lift motors, pumps and so on. The
principal motivation behind the paper is to provide how to control of asynchronous motor speed .

CHAPTER 3

TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES

Hardware & software used with technical specifications:

 Ac Source
 3 Phase Motor
 Digital Display
 Scope Display
 Software (Matlab)

Ac Source:

Alternating current (ac) is the flow of electric charge that periodically reverses
direction. An ac is produced by an alternating emf, which is generated in a power
plant, as described in Induced Electric Fields. If the ac source varies periodically,
particularly sinusoidally, the circuit is known as an ac circuit

3 Phase Motor:

A three-phase motor is an electric machine that transforms electric power into

mechanical energy by means of electromagnetic interactions.

Digital Display:

Digital display means a device intended to display copy using electronic screens,
projection, television, computer video monitors, liquid crystal displays (LCD),
light emitting diode (LED) displays, or any other similar electronic, computer
generated or digital technology
P a g e | 11

Scope Display:

The original radar display, the A-scope or A-display, shows only the range, not
the direction, to targets. These are sometimes referred to as R-scopes for range
scope. A-scopes were used on the earliest radar systems during World War II,
notably the seminal Chain Home (CH) system.

Software:

Matlab

Summary:
The details of tools used in this project explained in this chapter. The tools are able
to make this project perfect and the specific value was also given in this chapter that
was used in project. These tools help for output of the circuit.

CHAPTER 4

PROPOSED METHOD

Two methods of induction motor torque regulation are described utilizing

speed and current feedback into the frequency and amplitude channels of a
pulse width modulated inverter. Transfer characteristics illustrating the
steady-state behavior of the two configurations are presented. Transient
characteristics are discussed in detail by examining the linearized system
transfer functions. An analytical approach to design of a closed loop
controller for a practical application is outlined. Experimental results are
presented showing correlation with predicted results

5.1 Design of the investigation/Algorithms:

3 phase induction motor is a pre define circuit so have to less work in the
investigation of the circuit and making its logic.

5.2 Implementation procedure:

Implementation process made after the complete analysis of the circuit. Draw the
circuit first on the helping software make it confirm that the circuit is 100% in
working condition. Implement it by using the apparatus mention above.

5.3.1 Details about software/ algorithms:

Different software are used in this project, which are

CHAPTER 8
SOCIAL ECONOMY IMPACT

8.1 Description:-

The invention of the motor has changed our way of life. These three-phase
induction motors are commonly used for heavy work. This type of motor
is used in mills and industrial establishments. Three phase induction
motor is a high quality motor. Its demand is increasing day by day.

8.2 Future Plan:-

To reduce the transmission force, an additional control strategy can be

developed and incorporated with the proposed technology. To reduce the
cost of implementation, this drive can be applied without any speed
sensor..3-phase Induction motor is a highly efficient machine with
efficiency ranging from 85 to 97 percent.

Thanks everyone to stay with us & give us your valuable attention. And also thanks
to our team members for their contribution. From this project now we have a clear
idea how to control speed of an induction motor by using Matlab, and also we have known
that application, that will be help us to apply this experience in future to our workplace.
After all now we can say that we have successfully done this mini project. Thanks again to
Everyone, stay safe , Assalamualaikum.
