FOREWORDS
Indonesia stands out as the largest gaming market in Southeast Asia, mainly due
to the substantial development of esports and mobile gaming. In 2021, the
Indonesian gaming market reached a valuation of approximately USD 1.92 billion,
positioning it as a promising leader among its Southeast Asian counterparts.

Indonesia's esports hold significant potential for achievements and driving


growth in the creative industry. Professional local teams have contributed to
economic turnover exceeding IDR 15 trillion. Some renowned world-champion
Indonesian esports teams such as EVOS, ONIC, RRQ, and Bigetron; have made a
mark on the global stage.

In response to this phenomenon, Jakpat aims to capture the habits and


behaviors of Indonesian gamers who follow esports trends. Some key insights
include the games, teams, and tournaments that are highly awaited.

This report is the last part of the Jakpat Gaming & Esports Report Series 2023.
The other three topics are mobile gaming, PC/laptop gaming, and console
gaming.

DATA COLLECTION RESEARCH OBJECTIVE

• The survey was distributed to 1191 Jakpat respondents • To find out the demographic and psychographic profile
with 1047 of them following esports trends of gamers

• Data collecting was done on 10-12th of July 2023 • To understand gamers’ behavior and attitude

• Margin of error below 5% • To understand the interest in esports’ events and

There is a contrasting distribution of gamers among genders, with more males being active gamers and more females
being casual gamers. This is also reflected in the gaming community, which is more heavily dominated by male gamers.
However, there is no significant difference in the distribution of gamers among age groups.
