healthcare infrastructure and stigma persist. The government has responded with strategies,
education campaigns, and youth-focused programs.

poverty
Poverty in South Africa is a deeply rooted problem stemming from historical racial
segregation and economic disparities. Income inequality is pronounced, with a
substantial portion of the population living in poverty, especially in rural areas and
informal settlements. High unemployment, limited access to quality education and
healthcare, and inadequate housing contribute to the cycle of poverty.
